"Once this storm has cleared, and once the Director has recovered, we can start to put a system together that we –"
"I've recovered enough." The Director said as he, Daisy and Aaron entered the lab, meeting with the rest of the team. "My god, that was fast." Jemma said, a little uneasy. "Little sore. But I'll manage." Mace waved off the quickness of his recovery. "Guys built like a robot." Aaron said lightly, noticing Jemma wincing at the wording. He narrowed his eyes in suspicion, but just put if off to AIDA being out there. An LMD on the run. A Life Model Decoy gone rogue.
"I think both Daisy and Aaron here should contact the Inhumans personally and oversee their transfer to HQ." The Director announced. "We'll take care of it." Daisy promised the man. "I'll help make calls. That's our top priority." Mack added. "Along with finding Agent May, right?" Jemma threw in. Looking a little bit on edge at the others. "Of course." Coulson answered. "Perhaps Simmons and I should retire to my office and discuss the logistics of the search." The Director had moved forward with the suggestion. Fitz immediately moved in, closer to Jemma. "Actually. We.... discovered an old USSR communication hardware device when we were on the raid. Maybe they used that for communicating. But, we should probably keep our brain trust together until we can decipher the code." The Director approved of the idea, even after a short pause. Coulson finally got them moving.
"Seriously, a drink?" Daisy asked as Aaron opened a bottle. "We have time to celebrate. We found the Director, took down the Watchdogs leader." Aaron justified the drink. The latter part was Daisy's doing.
Daisy only rolled her eyes, turning to Coulson as he entered. "Yoyo's our most valuable asset. So, we're going to get to her first." Daisy informed him. "Sounds like a good idea." Coulson accepted the plan, leaving for his office. As Daisy moved to Mack, who started the call to Yoyo. "Yoyo, we're coming to get you." He said. "Is everything ok?" Yoyo asked in concern. "You're in danger." Mack decided on saying. Aaron raised an eyebrow, while it may be a little bit true, did seem a bit drastic. Plus, Mack would've held at least a little bit of emotion. The two of them were closer now, but even then he knew how Mack acted. Not mechanical, but emotional.
They'd call them all. Every single last one of them. All to get them to come to SHIELD. All to be cooped up in a cramped place. It was like lambs to the slaughter really. Funny, he didn't think much of the thought at the time. Although, maybe that was also the alcohol pumping through his system. Despite his liver healing like everything else, enough got into him each time.
"Ok, that's everyone. Do you really think it's necessary for us to personally greet each inhuman. You don't think that'll take too much time?" Daisy asked, placing the pad on the table, turning to Mack. "It'll be more efficient than you think." Mack waved it off. "Ok, I'll suit up. Zephier in ten?" Daisy checked, walking away to do just that. Mack gave the ok, before turning to Aaron, taking the bottle from his grip. "Hey..." He was about to start but noticed the blank look on Mack's face. He sighed. "Fine." And begrudgingly, he left to try and find an outfit that counted as a suit for him.
"How's your room look?" Daisy called out. Expecting a short silence from her friend. Seeing as how he was so focused on the rooms themselves for the Inhumans, along with his mind seeming to go elsewhere. Although, what she didn't expect was the long pause that she received. Making her look up from her pad and to the door. As if she expected him to go to the door, only for that not to happen. "Aaron, we good?" She asked again. Now a small sense of anxiety was starting to build within her.
He appeared right as she was about to reach the room. And one thing was obvious, he was panicking. Hyperventilation and the way he had to put his hand on the wall to stabilise himself. "Hey. Hey, Aaron, hey." Although, that only seemed to make him fall deeper and deeper into it. He looked up at her, a large amount of fear coating his eyes. And, upon meeting her eyes, that fear grew and grew. He backed up, even if accidentally tripping over. "No. No. No, no no no no no." He muttered, tears starting to go down his face. It was too much. The last time he had been in a situation like this, where he was chanting no over and over again was something that he didn't want to remember. The two times previously where he was panicking as he was now. One involving the girl or – for now he still told himself that what he'd seen didn't mean what he'd thought. Still, the first time involving Daisy as she laid bleeding out from Quinn. Going by Daisy back then. Where times were easier. And the second time.... That was after the 'Afterlife incident', as he called it in his head. Deciding to not call it what it was.
