Daisy had a point when she said she needed "all hands on deck." There weren't many SHIELD agents left. Aaron could walk, he could fight. So, despite a reluctant look in her eye, she let him up. She had gone to May, about a plan to find Coulson and try stop this.
Mack, meanwhile, was following Aaron - who was making a b-line right for Fitz's cell. Mack followed, trying to time it right to jump in front and try and stop the boy. His veins were the darkest he'd seen them yet. Yet, he was calm. At least, on the outside.
He'd heard about Ward and what he'd done, seen it's effects himself when he first moved to the base - everyone was scattered and what not. But this, this was deeper than that. They'd only known Ward for about a year, tops. Fitz...Fitz had been there for more than that. And now he'd done this.
Don't get him wrong, Mack thought Aaron was justified in the anger. He held it himself, even if it was mixed with pity for that mental struggle Fitz was in. It explained it, but didn't justify the actions.
He stopped when Aaron did, just at the corner to the cell.
Aaron's back hit the wall, and he shut his eyes.
"I can't do it..." he admitted, taking long breaths.
"I can't...I can't fucking do it," he said, 'chuckling.' Mack saw the tremble of his lip.
"Hey," he said, softly. Aaron opened his eyes, looking to him, "how about you stick with me for today? Alright? Give you some proper time to heal."
"I don't want to be a burden."
Mack smiled sadly at that belief, "you're not," he reassured. Aaron nodded, not fully buying it.
"Thank you."
"Always. Now, are you ready?"
Aaron took a few moments, gulping and catching his breath, before nodding. Smiling at the man before they left that cell behind.
Simon stood next to Daisy as Davis entered the Quinjet, "Watch your heads. Try to get comfortable. And, we'll take off in a few minutes." Daisy was over to them like a bullet, Simon decided to stay back however. Letting her do what she needed to do with Ruby.
"It's nice to see that Mr. Fitz got you all back." Daisy returned the good feeling at their health, before apologizing for taking them out of hiding. She looked at Robin as she said she wouldn't of done it if it wasn't important. She tried to greet Robin. Tried to get a reaction from the girl. But nothing came of it. Daisy's smile dimmed.
"She hasn't been doing well. For a couple weeks. She isn't speaking to me. She's not drawing pictures. I don't know what she's seeing. But whatever it is, it's overwhelming her." Polly explained as she pulled Daisy beside Simon. She gave the man a small smile in greeting. One he returned. She didn't miss the obvious look shared between the two before Daisy answered.
"I know the feeling. Maybe I could find out what's on her mind." Daisy's offer was accepted. The woman made her way over to the little girl who had died as an old woman in the future. Polly stayed with Simon, meanwhile.
"So, who are you?" Polly's question wasn't rude. It was curious. Simon gave her an easy going smile as he answered, "Simon." She nodded at his answer, before something clicked in her mind. She looked back to Robin for a moment.
"She's mentioned your name before." Simon creased his eyebrows in confusion, "Really?" He asked, not sure why his name would pop up like that. He didn't really do anything. Well, the only notable thing was not die with everyone else.
"It was just something she'd say every now and again. About how you weren't meant to be somewhere." Simon's eyes softened slightly as he realized what Robin was talking about. He wasn't meant to be here. He wasn't meant to be in this time.
