What They Become

Skye may have left of her own volition, but May wasn't just about to let her go into that goodnight just yet.

"Trip, find some cloud cover!" She ordered as she ran into the holo-com room, activating said table.

"You think they're coming back? Well, should we cloak?" A Koenig brother asked as Trip made his way up to the pilot's seat to do the job May had given him.

"Not yet." May answered.

"Are you seeing this?" What, 'this' was turned out to be a few Quinjet's of HYDRA approaching them, most likely about to fire.

"Should we cloak?" The other Koenig asked in fear, seeming to follow his brother on the gut instinct.

"Not yet!" May was louder this time.

"I can man the weapons control pod." Hunter said, ready to go and do just that.

"Just grab a seat and lock in. It's gonna get bumpy." May said. They all shared a look, before following through with her new command.

As they all got in the seats, that left a brother without one, "What? No, go, move over! Go!" Hunter sighed, but did as asked.

Crates started falling, the agents in the seats started to be thankful for that choice as the BUS pretty much stalled mid air. But, this time, it was done manually.

Then it started falling. As Rebeca and Hunter looked between the brothers, one was seemingly making a silent prayer with his eyes closed while the other was holding a thumb up. The Jets closed in on them as they did so.

They entered the clouds, turbulence hitting almost critical. They were locked onto and the missiles had been fired.

Escape pods flew out, acting as flares. They cloaked as the pods left them. They cloaked as the rockets hit the pods instead.

Mack had fallen back down the whole in a fight with the others, one Aaron had missed due to passing out. They were going to blow up the tunnels, trapping the poor man in there.

But, as Coulson had put it, that wasn't Mack. What it was, was a possessed version of the man.

"Let me know as soon as you can get us down into the tunnels safely." Coulson ordered as they walked up the ramp of the BUS. He handed Fitz his bag as they reached the top.

"Of course, sir." Fitzsimmons said in sync as Fitz took the bag and they both left to do just that.

Bobbi was walking with Aaron, the boy had been quiet since he had woken up, "Mack wasn't your fault, you know." His attempt at comfort didn't go without a smile in thanks, but it didn't work over all.

"I was the one who stunned him." She said, adamant to take the blame.

"It was either you did that, or Fitz would've shot him." It was morbid, but true.

As they came up the ramp, they saw Coulson talking to May about the news of Skye being taken, "If there's a silver lining it's that she's probably still alive." They heard Coulson say before he turned to them, "Agent Morse, Aaron. HYDRA knows the alien city's here and they're coming our way. If any of their agents are ex-SHIELD, they'll contact Diego for local intel. Reach out again and make sure he doesn't tell them about the fort entrance."

"Copy that." She was downer than usual, not without good reason of course.

"We'll do everything possible for Mack," He assured her, "But right now, we have to stop HYDRA from getting the Obelisk into those tunnels." She gave him a smile in thanks, before taking her leave.
