Lights were flashing, and alarms were going off. This was very much a 'happy landing'. The agents all ran into the command room, trying to do all they could to stop it from being a very messy landing, at least; that, and get their bearings on where they were
now.Jemma tapped on the side computer while Mack went to the front of the ship, "Autopilot pulled us out of the dive," he yelled.
Daisy and Deke worked together on another console, but Lisa stood frozen.
"We should probably be flying when we jump," Coulson said, grabbing Lisa's arm just in case. He looked at Jemma's screen, "live and learn."
Lisa wanted them to do the first part, to then be able to do the second.
It rumbled; they had hit the earth. It then jolted. They all fell forward, but not over. With that, it had come to a stop.
The engines then whirled as they seemed to try to calm themselves down; at least, that was Lisa always told herself about engines. They made it as a sort of coping mechanism. Just as she took a breath as her own version of that.
"Clocking engaged," Daisy said to her friends.
"I'll run a systems check," Deke said right after her, tapping away.
"Everyone ok?" Mack checked, looking at each and every one of his agents.
Lisa nodded, albeit shakily. Mack gave a nod back, his eyes checking her for any injuries. She shook her head. He nodded again, allowing himself to take that breath.
"Not everyone made the flight," Coulson reminded them all.
"Enoch," Jemma said, "we left him."
"At least he has time to spare," Coulson offered for some comfort.
"Where did we jump to?" Elena asked.
Mack checked, "the desert?"
Heat. Warmth, but the bad type of warmth. Oh god. Jemma saw Lisa's look in her eye, and gently spun the chair around. Lisa then sat in it, head in her hand. Herself and Coulson put hands on her one of her shoulders.
"Which desert? Where are we?" Elena prompted.
"Why aren't we home?" Daisy asked.
"GPS isn't working," Deke said; only adding to their good news, "I'm gonna try and find a topographical match."
Heat. Warmth. No life around them. And they had no idea when they were. Lisa could hear her thoughts going by a mile a minute.
She also felt Jemma tighten her grip on her shoulder slightly. Seemed the older woman too had spirals like this. That grip was then gone, and Lisa felt the vibration of footsteps. She lifted her head up a small bit, seeing Jemma pick up a radio.
Different versions of static came through the radio. Jemma was trying to find something, anything, to tell them when they were in time.
That hand was then placed back on Lisa's shoulder, as if Jemma was trying to calm herself down as well. Coulson's was firm, but also somehow gentle at the same time.
"There it is," a voice on the radio says, "and we hear you want more Perry Como. We've got him up next," the jolly man on the radio said.
"Please tell me that's an oldies station," Elena begged.
"But first," the radio man continued to say, "a word from our sponsors at Conway Auto. They've got the brand new '55 Thunderbird. Stop by, and take the road by storm..."
Jemma removed her hand from Lisa's shoulder for a moment to turn the radio off.
"'55?" Daisy asked, "as in our giant spaceship just appeared in the sky in 1955?"
