Today, Sophia and I had dinner together. Just by the two of us I mean. Her parents wanted to spend some time together outside so they left us alone
Sophia isn't the type to talk while eating so it was really quiet. Usually it'd be her mom who started the conversation and all. While Sophia would be listening, nodding and even respond from time to time.
I am kind of scared to start up a conversation since she's really focused when it comes to eating. I want to strike a conversation with her but I kinda feel intimidated to even start one.
"You've been staring at me for a while. What's wrong ?" She asked
"Ah no no nothing's wrong ! Sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable" I apologised
Stop embarrassing yourself Joshua
"Ah I wasn't don't worry. You seemed like you wanted to ask me something that's why I asked" said Sophia as she got back to eating
There was a moment of silence until I decided to speak again
"It's just, it feels quite without your mom around. I didn't know what to talk about with you since you were kind of focused on your food. Kinda scared that I might annoy you" I said to her
She chuckled
"You're too much of a gentleman Joshua. A small conversation wouldn't hurt and I wouldn't mind either. You're seriously worried about the smallest thing" she laughed
"So you're not mad ?" I asked
"Silly you ! Of course I am not !" She couldn't stop laughing
"Geez there's no need to laugh that much" I pouted
"THE Joshua Hong getting all sulky ? That's cute of you" she teased
"Sheesh. The introvert and socially awkward Sophia Kim is actually a bully" I rolled my eyes playfully
"Shut up you"
"No you"
We stared at each other for quite long until we bursted out laughing
"Gosh we really are close now" said Sophia as she was catching her breath from laughing earlier
"Reminded me of how me and Seungkwan would always fight" she smiled fondly
"You two are really close huh ?" I said to her as I felt happy. Happy that Seungkwan has a friend like her
"Yeah, we really are close. I'm not even sure how did we ended up being this close" she was still smiling fondly.
Honestly, what did I deserve to have a friend like her ? I guess I've fallen for the right person this time.
