The biting cold felt like it would never end. The longer the Nublar Seven were out in this cold, the less certain they were that they would ever get out of it. Shivering, they followed Ben through the forest, since he was the only one with a phone and thus a navigation app. They trudged through the snow all through the night and into the morning until they came to a road half buried in snow.

There they waited, hoping a person with a vehicle with enough space would be kind enough to give them a lift. It took some time, but eventually, someone did. Although it wasn't what everyone had been hoping for. It was one those three wheeled tricks, only enough room for two people in the seats and and a carriage usually used for boxes and whatever else. Ben, with Bumpy's egg climbed into the passenger seat while everyone else climbed into the back and huddled for warmth.

As they drove, the freezing wind felt like it bit even harder than before. Even Max was freezing and he was supposed to be resistant to extreme temperatures. He could only imagine how the others must be feeling.

"Are we sure that plane crashed in Italy and not Antarctica?" Kenji wondered.

"You know, I could probably handle the cold even without my jacket," Max offered. "Anyone want mine?"

All at once, everyone's hands shot up. Max looked between each of them with an unimpressed expression. With a sigh he removed his jacket and handed it to Yasmina, who took it gratefully and bundled herself in it. She leaned into Max, pulling the hood over her head and tightening the fabric around her face.

"Of course," Kenji grumbled. "Who else would it have been?"

"Sorry, Kenji," Max shrugged, shivering as the wind got through the gaping hole on the back of his shirt and hit his bare back. "If you wanted jacket privileges, you should have dated me".

"Ben better be taking us some place warm," Darius shivered.

Kenji leaned over and tapped on the back window of the tiny truck. From inside, Ben turned to face him. "How much longer?" He asked. Ben raised his phone, showing their distance from the destination and themselves, then turned back around. "What does that mean?"

After far too long on the open road, a town suddenly came into view. Max looked at the houses as they went by, a warm smile on his face. The place radiated cosiness, though anything would like that after what they just had to go through.

"This is it!" Ben suddenly called to them.

The truck pulled up on the side of the road and stopped. Ben practically leapt out of the truck and faced the house before him. Max followed his gaze. The house was on a small hill, with a set of stairs leading up to it. It was two stories tall, with what looked like a small attic at the top, it was quite a large house, all things considered.

Ben offered a thankful wave to the driver as he took a step forward. "Grazie mille!" As soon as his foot hit the road, it gave out from under as he slipped, falling backwards.

Kenji was there in a second, catching him by the arms and lifting him back to his feet. "Dude, careful," Kenji said, patting the egg that was stuffed in Ben's pouch. "You've got precious egg cargo".

Max jumped out from the back of the truck and helped the others down. "Um, ya'll. I'm thinking Bumpy's egg should have hatched by now," Sammy said as she took Max's hand and was helped to the ground.

"Yeah," Yasmina said, doing the same. "I know we'd all be heartbroken if it didn't, but Kenji? I don't know if he...".

Darius jumped down, once again with Max's help. "Let's not cross that bridge until we come to it," Darius said. He slapped the back of the truck and it pulled away, as Max offered one final thankful wave. "The bridge we do have to cross is what we're going to do about Brooklynn, and if I'll ever feel my fingers again".
