The next day, everyone was packing everything into the boats and preparing to get underway. Zayna praised Max's work on the boats as everyone climbed in, having decided the what groups would go in what boats moments before. Max, Darius, Zayna and Sammy would go in one boat, while Ben, Kenji and Yasmina went in the other.
Once everyone was in, Max pushed Ben's boat into the river first, before going to his own and pushing it in, then leaping in right before he had to wade into the water. They waved their hands and said their goodbyes to Aminata, Sammy promising to watch out for Zayna for her. They pulled out into the open water and began to head upriver at last.
They had only been in the water for a few short minutes before Kenji spoke up, seeing the other boat getting ahead of them. "Ben. We have to keep up. Go faster".
Ben didn't entertain him. "We're not that far behind, Kenji. You remember the Gyrosphere on Nublar? I will not have that happen again". Kenji slumped and turned away. Just then, the phone in Ben's pouch buzzed. He looked down and pulled it out, opening it to find a new message available for him on Dark Jurassic. He gasped and quickly read the message, before sighing in disappointment. Just spam.
"Do you want to make six figures in just two weeks?" Kenji shouted over his shoulder, reading the message aloud. "Heck yeah!"
"Why does everyone keep looking over my shoulder like that?" Ben complained. "You ever heard of privacy".
"Sure. Sure," Kenji nodded. "But, hate to break it to you, but that message might be a scam".
"You think!?" Ben asked sarcastically.
"I do think," Kenji replied, either oblivious to the sarcasm or trying to be smart. He sat back down, this time behind Yasmina, who seemed completely unaware of their discussion. "Now that that's settled, Captain Kenji's going to need you to focus on the old rudder". Ben ignored him and went back to the phone, looking through anything new that might've come up since he last looked. "Ben!" Kenji shouted. Ben looked up just in time to see the tree that he allowed the boat to crash into. The three of them bucked forward at the impact.
"You guys good?" Max shouted to them from his own boat.
"We're fine. We'll catch up," Yasmina replied as Kenji grabbed an oar and pushed the boat away from the half submerged tree.
"Ben. Focus".
"Right. Sorry," Ben said, putting away the phone and concentrating on steering. With that little incident out of the way, the group continued forward, unaware that they weren't alone in the waters.

Brooklynn stared out from her window, the city of Dubai sprawling as far as the eye could see. In any other circumstance she would have loved to explore this place, but she was here for a far more important reason. Her gaze focused on the closest building to her, a penthouse, probably home to all types of people, but she was focused on the floor near the top, one that the building she was hiding out in had a perfect view into, if the windows weren't always so dark.
Brooklynn opened her phone, and looked at the message she had received from Ben. Brooklynn felt her chest tighten as she looked at the message. So they knew. They knew she was alive. Or was it just Ben? Either way she couldn't let this knowledge get out. But how was she supposed to tell them that. Contact them? That would only prove them right, and probably make things worse. She sighed and put her the back of her hand to her forehead.
Her phone buzzed, an call was coming. She answered it and put it on speaker, putting the device on her leg and pulling out a pair of binoculars. "Can't talk right now, Ronnie. This is it". She looked through them and to the penthouse window, where a faint silhouette of a person could be seen.
