IMPORTANT(!!!!!!!!): Part of the dialogue is in Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish, don't look it up! You'll be able to enjoy the joke better if you don't understand it (until you've read the entire story).

Basically: Don't look up the translations! Everything you need to know I've translated for you! (It'll look like this) And if you already speak Spanish, you can laugh at the joke with Hanako.

"Hey, Hanako-kun, do you speak any other languages besides Japanese and English?"

"Yeah, Spanish," he commented quickly before returning to his card game with the Mokke.

"Can you teach me to say something?" Nene asked excitedly. Hanako glanced up at her enthusiastic expression.

"Sure! Do you want to say, 'You are a good ghost friend'?" He asked. Nene nodded. "Repeat after me: Yo."

"Yo."

"Te."

"Te."

"Amo."

"Yo te amo."

"Yo te amo."

"Perfect!" Hanako grinned and blushed.

"That was easy! Yo te amo. Yo te amo. Yo te amo, Hanako-kun!" Hanako blushed harder.

A week later, Nene was still using 'Yo te amo' as her greeting for Hanako. And every time, he just grinned and blushed

"Yo te amo, Hanako-kun!" Nene said, skipping into the bathroom.

"Senpai, tu amas el fantasma loco?!" (You like the crazy ghost?!) Kou exclaimed, very confused. He had followed Nene to help her clean.

"Kid, ¿hablas español?" (You speak spanish?) Hanako asked. Kou nodded.

"¿Ella te ama?!" (She loves you?!) Kou frowned. "Pero--" (but--)

"Chico, por favor--" (Boy, please)

"Senpai, what do you think 'Yo te amo' means?" Kou asked. Nene frowned.

"It means 'You are a good ghost friend', right?" Nene responded.

"Kid--"

"Senpai, 'Yo te amo' means 'I love you'!" Kou threw his hands in the air. "All week, you've been telling Hanako you love him!"

Blush spread up Nene's cheeks. "I h-h-have?" She turned to the ghost. "Hanako-kun, that's . . . never mind." She quickly left.

"Yashiro?" Hanako moved to go after her, but Kou grabbed his arm, stopping him.

"Seriously, Hanako, that wasn't funny."

"Why did she take it so seriously?" Hanako asked, incredibly confused. Kou shook his head and sighed.

"She's not ready to confess her feelings yet, and you basically just forced her to." Hanako's eyes widened.

"H-her feelings? Huh?" Kou pushed open the door. "Espera, Chico, ven aquí! ¡Necesito tu ayuda!" (Wait, Boy, come here! I need your help!) But Kou was already gone.

"S-stupid H-H-Hanako-kun . . ." Nene cried harder. "Y-you're s-s-so--" She felt arms encircle her. She pressed her face into the gakuran in front of her.

Hanako hugged her tighter. "I'm sorry, Yashiro, I didn't realize . . ."

"I h-h-hate you," Nene mumbled. Hanako laughed.

"Yeah, I'd hate me too. I'm really sorry. But, can I ask . . ." Hanako blushed. "Why did you react so strongly?"

"B-because I like you," Nene said into his shirt. Hanako's eyes widened.

"Y-you do? Really?!"

"No." Hanako blinked.

"Of course . . . hah, yeah, right, of course, you--"

"I love you."

Hanako froze. Then he laughed awkwardly. "Heh, yeah, sure you--"

"Hanako-kun," Nene leaned back, blushing. "I do l-love you. But I wish you'd l-let me say that for myself, and n-not trick me . . ."

"Hey, Yashiro?"

"Mhh-hmm?"

"Yo te amo, Yashiro."

"Yo te amo, Hanako-kun."

A/N:

Everyone get the joke now? Good.

I know this story isn't great, I just wanted to experiment with incorporating Spanish into oneshots.

Also, to anyone who got the wordplay about the title, go you! XD

For those who don't get it: 'Amar' is the verb 'to love'. 'Ama' can be translated to he/she/you love, or 'love' as a command. Like, 'me ama!' could be 'love me'! This might sound crazy to anyone who doesn't speak Spanish, so . . . sorry!

Stay safe and healthy!
