Only the Avatar can master all four elements and bring balance to the world

THIS JUST IN:

The Southern Water Tribe is under siege! When Avatar Korra was attacked by a dark spirit, Chief Unalaq was the only one able to stop it. So, Korra turned away from Tenzin and chose Unalaq as her new spiritual mentor. Tenzin and his family left for a vacation at the Southern Air Temple, while Korra remained in the Water Tribe. Will she be able to restore balance between humans and spirits?

Staring keenly at the slowly falling snow, Korra held her mouth open wide as she attempted to eat a snowflake. Lemaya watched in wonder at how Korra had been doing this for years yet still hadn't realized that she'd been catching snowflakes on her tongue every time she opened her mouth.

"Hey, Korra?" Lemaya's mouth sat comfortably in a wide grin as she watched Korra, the familiar picture of Korra's bright blue eyes against the pale snow behind her being drawn delicately in Lemaya's eyes.

"Hmm?" Korra turned away from the sky and tilted her head at Lemaya. Korra remarked the also familiar notion of always seeing how much the blues of Lemaya's clothes make her stand out against the stark white snow of the outskirts of the Southern Water Tribe. It was an everyday thing for them to go out of the bounds of the town and watch the sunrise together, and Korra didn't know how much of a habit it really was until she would wake up in Republic City and realize that she was missing an integral part of her morning. Noticing Lemaya patiently waiting for Korra to return to the land of the conscious, she shook her head and curved her lips upwards. "Did you need something, Lemaya?"

"I was wondering if you could give me some positive thoughts." Lemaya set down the brush she was holding and rummaged through her bag for her hair ties.

"Positive thoughts? For what?" Korra perked up, shifting off of her hands and leaning forward toward Lemaya as she kept a trained eye on her movements while Lemaya fished her hair ties out of her bag.

"For while I braid my hair." Korra's face morphed to realization as she leaned back again, a soft hum escaping her lips.

"Well first off I have to say the obvious one: me coming back to you," Korra mused. Her brows were raised as she waited for some sort of response from Lemaya, the dark-brown-haired girl only giving silence in return.

Feeling Korra's eyes trained on her, Lemaya thought over her words as her brain went into overdrive, and settled on a little tease. "What? Is that supposed to be a positive thing?" Lemaya sent a smirk in Korra's direction making Korra falter. She wasn't expecting that. Giggling at Korra's face, Lemaya relented, "I'm just kidding, Kor. Of course you coming back to me was a great thing. I can't possibly tell you how much I missed you. Even though I've said it like a million times." Korra let out a breath of relief as she sat up straighter, her mind relaxing upon hearing that Lemaya was thinking of her while she was gone.

"Whew, that's good, I thought I had lost my bestest friend ever. That would have not been a positive thought." Korra played with the ends of the fur around her legs, hoping that she didn't make things awkward. Luckily, Lemaya reached for her hand, making Korra break out into a smile.

"Never. There's nothing in the world that could make you lose me. And it better be the same way for you." Lemaya squeezed Korra's hand reassuringly and grinned feeling Korra squeeze her hand back.
