Only the Avatar can master all four elements and bring balance to the world
THIS JUST IN:
After Korra failed to return to Republic City, everyone has been worried about her fate, especially as the ruthless Kuvira hijacked Wu's coronation day. Unbeknownst to the world, Korra found refuge in the swamp with Toph who discovered there was still metal poison in her body. But when Toph tried removing it, Korra resisted. Will someone find the Avatar in time to save the day and help her return to action?
"This is a mission of the utmost importance. Conflict is coming to the Earth Kingdom and we need to find the Avatar. Can I count on you three to bring Korra home?"
Tenzin turned promptly on his heel to give each of his children a firm glance, their backs straightening in tight salutes as they read his message loud and clear. "Absolutely," Meelo nodded with a wide grin.
"What about me?"
Tilting his head to the side, Tenzin gently patted Tosi's head and said, "Your father requested that you stay here to keep an eye on the temple with me."
"Fine," Tosi sighed. His hair was strewn all out of place as he pulled away from Tenzin's grip and moved to hug each of his cousins goodbye. A light chuckle escaped Pema's lips as she came over the last step into the courtyard, many lunch bags in hand.
"Already off to a good start I see," she teased. Tenzin couldn't help but smile as he took some of the bags with her and helped the kids load them onto Jinora's bison, Pepper. They stepped away and shared a tense glance, an unspoken worry passing between them. They had told themselves that they wouldn't say it out loud lest the kids feel unnerved ahead of their journey, but it was hard not to feel that way when their kids were going off alone to find the Avatar.
"Don't worry, Tosi. I'm sure we'll find a way to keep you busy." Tosi flipped off Pepper's back and raced over to Lemaya. She lagged behind the stairs, her arms outstretched and clutching tightly on little Rohan's hands as he took the last big step to the others. "You're basically already a master teacher."
Tosi giggled as he took Rohan's hands and kept him steady, walking him over to Tenzin and Pema. It was something he had, out of the blue, taken the habit of doing and it was the cutest thing anyone at the temple had ever seen. Rohan began to gurgle with bright eyes as he recognized his parents, especially as they took him into their arms to say goodbye to Ikki, Jinora, and Meelo. The kids all rushed to the edge of Pepper, taking turns hugging Rohan and pressing kisses to his cheek.
"Don't worry Rohan, we'll be fine. Grandpa Aang and his friends were around our age when they traveled the world," Ikki explained to him, though Pema and Tenzin knew that was more for them than anything.
"Yeah and soon enough we'll be back with Korra." Jinora settled herself in the saddle as Lemaya came around to give them tight squeezes, too. She stopped at Pepper's snout and gave it a good rub. Jinora caught her eyes and added, "Promise."
Lemaya smiled thinly and said, "I'm not worried in the slightest. Not when you smart kids are on the job." Jinora watched her silently as she averted her gaze back to Pepper and gave her a few more scratches. There wasn't much else to say, yet it felt like someone should say something. There had been a rather large elephant-koi in the room ever since Lemaya and Tonraq had arrived without Korra and, hopefully, this would be the last time any of them felt it.
