THIS JUST IN:

The Avatar has been abducted! After Tarrlok arrested her friends, Korra confronted him in his chambers. But a heated argument quickly turned into an all-out bending battle! Desperate to save himself, Tarrlok revealed his ability to bloodbend and took Korra far from Republic City. Will the Avatar's friends find her before it's too late?

Korra rhythmically banged her head against the side of the truck, her movements halting as it came to a sudden stop. She jerked up and hastily moved to fold up Lemaya's letter and safely place it back in her pocket. The door to the truck was pulled open, the light burning Korra's eyes and Tarrlok's hands folding inwards as he tightened his grip on Korra while he released her chains. Keeping his hold on her blood and movements, Tarrlok dropped down out of the truck and took Korra along a barely visible dirt path towards a small cabin. Tarrlok's left hand was raised in order to hold Korra still and above ground, and his right hand worked at unlocking the keyhole on the cabin's basement.

Tarrlok walked Korra down to the basement wordlessly, Korra's groans from the constricting movements of his bloodbending being the only thing to fill the air that should have been teeming with animal life given the snowy woods the cabin was situated in. Tarrlok made his way to a metal box placed in the center of the basement and stood a few paces in front of it, slowly moving Korra into the box and releasing his bloodbending grip on her.

She landed onto the floor of the box roughly, her limbs feeling jelly-like as she tried to reach for the opening where Tarrlok's sluggish form stood. "What are you doing?" Tarrlok said nothing, slamming the door of the box and walking back up the stairs and locking the basement amidst Korra's screams and pounds against the metal. "Tarrlok! You can't keep me in here forever!" Driving away, Tarrlok rubbed his eyes and went over in his head what kind of story he needed to craft to best suit the situation given the complications Korra had brought him.

During that drive back to Republic City, most people were soundly sleeping. Or as soundly as one can with a child waking them up every hour. Alas, by dawn, Tenzin and Pema were finally able to keep Meelo asleep for more than an hour. That is, until the phone rang for Tenzin and Meelo sat right up, crawling over his father's face to answer the call.

"Who is this," Meelo slurred as he rolled his eyes. Yawning, he said, "It's something something in the morning. This better be important!"

Being awoken again by his son, Tenzin pulled Meelo off of his face and removed the phone from his grip, placing Meelo back into bed with a stern look. "Councilman Tenzin here." As Tenzin listened to the fast words of the person on the other end of the phone, he rubbed Meelo's head while his son dozed off back to sleep. Until Tenzin woke him and Pema back up with his gasp. "What?!"

Tenzin swiftly shot out of bed and threw on his clothes, running off to City Hall where he carefully stepped around police officers taking photos of the damages in City Hall. His eyes drifted over an electric glove and several other Equalist weapons scattered about the place as he stepped over to Tarrlok, Tenzin suspiciously eyeing Tarrlok. "What happened. What was Korra doing at City Hall?"

"As I told Chief Saikhan, Korra came to my office late last night." Tarrlok stood up and rolled down his sleeve as the healer who was tending to him finished up. Tarrlok waved the healer away and looked at Tenzin out of the side of his eye. "She was upset that I arrested her friends. She asked me to release them and...that's when the Equalists attacked. I tried to protect Korra, but we were outnumbered. Then, I was electrocuted. When I came to, the police had arrived, but Korra was gone."
