Premise/Summary

for the guilt in his head can't ever be expressed, so he learns how to love himself instead.

Review Proper
A. Introduction

The poetry collection has a good premise! I love the whole lowercaps aesthetic. I love the cover. I love the whole hook of the collection! I just love, love everything! ;-;

B. Elements

The collection features quite a few graphics in place and I find that endearing. The whole vibe of the collection is minimalistic and it's a vibe done well!

All poems are free-verse with some loose rhymes here and there. I love the structure and the way this collection is presented like it was telling a story through the form of letters in the form of poems. Such genius. A very good job!

The rhythm is just as flawless. It's just woosh. Flow, flow, flow. Really beautiful. *chef's kiss* Symbolisms are on point as well as the comparisons and the imagery. There are surely some quotable quotes that I wished I could have written. The thought that went into this collection is just superb!

I was also able to connect to the main character then and there which is amazing!

C. Themes

A collection about loss, grief, self-love, healing, and moving forward. Depression and suicide are also tackled as well as how the people left behind are dealing with the loss. It's an amazing, amazing job.

One comment I have though is that while this is presented as the journey to self-love and healing, the shift from explaining the situation and setting up the emotional foundation to the actual road to healing is a bit...sudden.

It's not necessarily a bad thing but it could be improved if there are a few poems showing the persona fluctuating in the battle towards healing before actually declaring that it's time to move forward.

But, even then, the collection is already one of the best I ever read! Good job!

D. Emotional Impact

I just...died inside along with the persona and rose again by the end of the collection. It's just soooooo good! It hooks you right in and when you finish, it's definitely a ride. A story told in poems. Poems that hide a story. It's an amazing concept and the writing is just so good.

(I am totally fanperson-ing your poetic skills and I am not ashamed.)

From start to finish, I just want to hug everyone who have identifed and will identify with the persona. It's....just amazing. ;-;

E. Technicalities

This collection is REALLY, REALLY clean. Not a typo in place. Very well-formatted. I have no comments. ^-^

Over-all Impression

Could I give this a 100/10? xD Just kidding. A solid 10/10 on my scale. Everything is just soooo good! Congratulations, Skylar. You have just earned a fan in me. I am looking forward to reading more of your poems because they're so good! ;-;
