Forty-Fifth
:Chapter Forty-Five:

Jeongguk had made the realization he had grown a crush on Taehyung. It hit him when he had rushed back to his house, jerked one off, and was alone in his bedroom with nothing to distract himself from his own thoughts.

He knew he did with the way Taehyung started to make his heart flutter and the way he would catch himself staring at Taehyung endlessly. It was pathetic if you had asked the younger of the two boys.

He felt like he himself was pathetic for crushing on someone who doesn't even want their friendship getting out into the public. Jeongguk hated that his heart grew so attached to Taehyung but he couldn't control what his heart did and didn't do for someone.

He believed it would be best to keep his little crush under wraps. The last thing he needed was Taehyung trying to distance himself or make up even more excuses.

"Jeongguk!" The aforementioned pulled from his thoughts, looking up at Hoseok who stared at him with concern. "Are you going deaf, bud?" He asked soon after. "I called your name like eight times."

"Uh, sorry," Jeongguk sheepishly smiled. "Just daydreaming." He vaguely replied, scratching the side of his neck embarrassedly.

Hoseok chuckled, shaking his head. "Sure," he uttered. "Anyways, Coach got our jackets in! I just wanted to know if you wanted to go pick it up with me? I would ask Taehyung but he's off with his girlfriend." Hoseok mocked the word 'girlfriend', rolling his eyes.

The younger tautly shut his lips, nodding his head. "Sure," he said, disregarding the mimic.

The two didn't have anything else to say so they began to make their way down to the locker rooms where the Coach's office was located at.

They moved in silence, both just walking together with their heads forward and mouth shut. Wasn't awkward or anything, just unexpectedly quiet for the both of them.

Since they were still within the school, it didn't take too long for them to make it to the old man's office.

"Coach?" Hoseok pushed the door open, peaking his head inside with Jeongguk right behind him.

"Are you here for your jacket?" Wondered through Coach, looking up from his lineup paper.

"Yes, sir." Said Hoseok, walking completely in. The younger followed behind silently, just wanting to get his jacket and go home.

"They're in the box over there. Just grab it, try it on, and leave." Said the Coach, busy with what he was doing.

Hoseok just nodded, making his way over to the boxes set aside. He reached in and pulled out his, seeing his name and number on it. It was great quality and definitely something he would cherish.

Jeongguk saw it in Hoseok's hand, thinking it looked really good. He was eager for his own, going through the box and searching for his name.

Unfortunately, he never saw his name but a nickname. He picked up the jacket with his number on it, seeing the name right before it.

"Did he really put 'Newbie' on it?" Hoseok wondered, seeing it in Jeongguk's hands. "Damn Taehyung. Want me to say something about it to him? That's not right."

Jeongguk hummed, feeling the corner of his lips twitch. "Nah, I think it looks good actually." He said subconsciously, feeling the tickle in his tummy. "Funny,"

Hoseok cocked a brow. "You don't care that it says, 'Newbie' and not, 'Jeongguk'?" He wondered skeptically.

The younger shook his head. "Could've said worse." He told. "Being called 'Newbie' isn't insulting, just a nickname for newcomers."
