The three then went into the library section of the TVA.
"What's this? Next step of your manipulation..." Loki guessed.
"This is the final step. Your last chances," Mobius told them.
"Oh, and what do our desperate last chances require?" Jamie asked.
"Work," Mobius told them.
"Work?" Loki and Jamie asked.
"I need you two to go over each and every one of the Variant's case files, and then, give me your...How do I put it? Your unique Loki and Jamie perspectives. And who knows? Maybe there's something that we missed," Mobius explained.
"Well, you're idiots. I suspect you probably missed a lot. Except for Jamie," Loki said, making Jamie smile.
"That's why I'm lucky I got ya for a little bit longer. Let me park ya at this desk. And don't be afraid to really lean into this work. Here's a good trick for you. Pretend your life depends on it. I'm gonna get a snack," Mobius told them before leaving when they got to a table.
Loki groaned as Jamie took a seat.
"No point in arguing," she said.
He sighed and sat across from her. Mobius gave them the files then left them.
"Oh, my goodness. Don't tell me the Variant ambushed and killed another team of Minutemen," Loki whispered sarcastically.
"Oh! And he stole their reset charge as well," Jamie added with the same amount of sarcasm.
A woman shushed them and in response, Loki returned the favor, making Jamie giggle.
They couldn't find anything, so they went to the front desk.
"Hi," Loki told the librarian.
She continued typing on the computer.
"Hello?" he asked.
She still typed, so Jamie rang the bell, getting her attention.
"Can I help you two?" she asked.
"Yes. We're on some important TVA business. Follow-up to a field mission. You know how it goes. We red lined near the apex, and...Well, it's never good," Loki informed, chuckled softly, then added, "Um, we'd like all files pertaining to the creation of the TVA, please."
"Those are classified," the librarian said.
"Okay. We'd like all files pertaining to the beginning of time then," Jamie requested.
"Those are classified," the librarian repeated.
"Okay, the end of time," Loki added.
"Those are classified," the librarian said again.
"Okay, what files can we have?" Jamie asked.
She then brought them to one aisle and handed them a small stack of files.
"Happy reading," the librarian told them before leaving.
Loki sighed at this.
"Maybe we'll find something here," Jamie assured.
"Unlikely," Loki told her then they went back to the desk.
The two looked around the files for a bit until Jamie found something interesting.
"Hey," she whispered while lightly tapping the table, getting his attention, then she told him, "Look at this."
She handed the paper she found to him and he went over it, his eyes widening in realization.
"You don't think..." she trailed off.
He looked at her with a smile.
"You're a genius, darling!" he exclaimed, getting up, then kissed her cheek.
"Thank you," Jamie blushed.
"Shh," the person shushed.
"Oh get over it!" Jamie told her then said to Loki, "Let's go show Mobius."
And they left to do so.
