Chapter 20: Alabama 2050

The storm went on as the Minutemen, B-15, Mobius, Loki, and Jamie stepped into the rain.

"Anything?" Loki asked.

"Nothing yet. Move out!" Mobius answered.

Once inside the store, Loki used his magic to dry himself and Jamie off.

"The hell was that?" B-15 asked.

"That was me using magic to dry Jamie's and my clothes. So I don't announce myself with every squeaky footstep like the rest of you," Loki answered.

"And I appreciate you thought of me," Jamie smiled to which Loki returned it.

B-15 rolled her eyes at that.

"Take both teams and sweep the storm shelter," B-15 ordered.

"Yes, ma'am," the Minutemen said.

"Loki, Jamie, and I are gonna check out the Green House. We'll meet..." Mobius started.

"No," B-15 said.

"No?" he questioned.

"You go with D-90. They stay with me," she stated.

"What are you...They're under my supervision," Mobius argued.

"This is my field op, Mobius. If they're not threats, then..." B-15 started.

"Of course they're threats. Remember the Time Theater and how many realities she's been to?" he pointed out.

"Mobius..." she started.

"I want them with me," Mobius remarked.

"You are welcome to go back to the TVA and litigate with Renslayer, but right now..." B-15 started.

"We're here. We're not going back," Mobius interrupted.

"The Variant is here," B-15 said.

"Mobius, it's fine. It's fine. You can trust me. I understand I have to earn that, so, I will," Loki assured.

"And we can manage the Variant if we come across him. We got this," Jamie did the same.

"Why is it the people you can't trust are always saying, 'Trust me'?" Mobius asked then said, "Okay, try to hang on to your Time Collar this time. We'll see you in the showroom."

Little did they know that the Variant saw them on the cameras.
