Loki then parted from the hug and took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry. I don't normally do this," he told her.
"Don't worry about it. I would do the same thing," she assured.
He sat down on the floor against the wall with his head in his hands. Jamie just stood there and looked at him.
Jamie sighed and replied, "I really hate you saw that. At least the ending."
"Me too. But what I don't understand is that after all that, that woman who looks like you saw something in me for me to be better. She said she knew me and all I was going to do," Loki mentioned.
"You sure she didn't work for this place? I mean I did, but that was before I realized this place was a load of crap," she suggested, sitting next to him.
"No. She actually seemed to care about me in ways I didn't think I'd experience," he told her.
"She's got me beat then. I'm not really good at showing affection to anyone. The closest is being your fan," Jamie replied, realized what she said, then closed her eyes before replying, "And I just said that in front of you. That's so like me."
Loki managed a chuckle before telling her, "It's alright. You know how to make someone who was set to die feel better."
"Good to know. Even though I'd prefer you to not die," she said.
"I would prefer that too," he responded before putting his head in his hands and she put a comforting hand on his back.
Then Mobius came in with a melt stick and approached them cautiously.
"Loki? Jamie? Nowhere left to run," Mobius told them, cautiously approaching them with a melt stick.
"I can't go back, can I? Back to my timeline," Loki asked.
Mobius lowered the melt stick.
"I don't enjoy hurting people. I..." Loki started, sighed, then continued, "I don't enjoy it. I do it because I have to, because I've had to."
"Okay, explain that to me," Mobius urged.
"Because it's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear. A desperate play for control," Loki told him.
"You feel like it was your only option since the other way around didn't work out so well for you," Jamie added.
Loki looked at her, a little surprised she knew how that felt.
"Take it from someone who gets it," she replied.
"You do know yourself," Mobius smiled.
"A villain," Loki said with a sigh.
"That's not how I see it," Mobius replied.
"Me neither," Jamie added.
Loki then looked at the Tesseract. In response, Jamie picked it up and handed it to him, to which he smiled in thanks.
"You try to use that?" Mobius asked.
"Oh, several times. Even an Infinity Stone is useless here," Loki answered with a scoff.
"The TVA is formidable. That's been my experience. Listen, I can't offer you salvation, but maybe I can offer you something better. A fugitive Variant's been killing our Minutemen," Mobius said.
"And you need the God of Mischief and your time jumping sister to help you stop him?" Loki asked as the two stood up.
"That's right," Mobius nodded.
"Why me?" Loki wondered.
"The Variant we're hunting is...you," Mobius answered.
"I beg your pardon?" Loki wondered in shock.
"Didn't see that coming," Jamie commented.
"Yeah. It doesn't sound good. But I've heard around here that there's extra footage of your file after you were killed. There is hope for you, but the TVA doesn't let anyone look into any of those files, making people think death is final. But help us and I'll get it for you," Mobius said.
Loki and Jamie looked at each other in shock before agreeing.
Then as Minutemen were investigating, they were lit on fire before they could reset the timeline.
