Chapter 10: THE VARIANT

In 1985 in Wisconsin, the dangerous Variant took out more Minutemen, but took one of them hostage.

Meanwhile, Jamie and Loki were changing in their outfits for the TVA.

(A/N Her outfit (but it's a TVA jacket).)

"I can't believe I'm in this thing again," Jamie muttered.

"I can't believe I'm wearing this at all," Loki commented from the other side.

She giggled and told her, "I don't think you'll get used to it. I never did and I've been here a long time."

"And yet you age beautifully," he told her.

"You do too," Jamie blushed with a smirk.

"Wouldn't your brother not like it if you and the God of Mischief flirted with each other?" Loki asked.

"Honestly, I don't care. He's my ADOPTED brother. He can't tell me who I should or shouldn't flirt with," she remarked, stepping out of her dressing room.

"Sounds like me with Thor," he responded as he stepped out then requested as he held up his tie, "I may need your assistance with this."

"I gotcha. But pay attention," Jamie told him, taking the tie from him.

She lifted his collar up and started the tie process.

"So, did you know you were adopted your whole life or pretty recently?" Loki asked.

"My whole life. But even when I knew, I still felt like what I did didn't matter as much," she answered.

"Well, other than when we found out, you and I see eye to eye on that matter," he replied.

"We also agree this place is awful," Jamie added.

"We can change that," Loki mentioned.

She stopped the tie process and looked at him.

"Overthrow the Time Keepers? Take over the TVA?" she asked.

"It's like you can read my mind," he smirked.

"Well, I can't, but I know you can read mine. And I'm thinking I wish I thought of that," Jamie returned it.

Loki chuckled and said, "I'm guessing that's a yes?"

"No. It's a hell yes," she stated.

She then finished his tie then they locked eyes. Time seemed to stop as they got lost in each other's eyes before straightening up and clearing their throats.

"Well, you look good. What about me?" Jamie wondered, spinning at the end.

"Also good. You also look like you're ready for me to take you under my wing," Loki answered.

"Then lead the way," she replied.

"Gladly," he responded.

He then went to her and held an arm out to her, which she happily accepted. He then escorted her to her desk, which was beside his, then went to his.
