Chapter 38: Taken Away

Loki got up after the millionth time of the time loop.

"I've heard it once, I've heard it a thousand times. 'You. You conniving, craven, pathetic worm. You did this.' Right?" Loki said.

Then Mobius and Jamie came in.

"What are you doing?" Mobius asked.

"Passing the time," Loki remarked sarcastically.

"Do you two care about her? Sylvie?" Mobius wondered to the two of them.

"We do," Jamie answered.

"I'm not sure if it's the right word. We've covered this back in there," Loki pointed out.

"Shut up! Do you really think you deserve to be alone?" Mobius said, Loki didn't answer, then Mobius exclaimed, "Loki!"

"You told me to shut up," Loki stated.

"Do you believe you deserve to be alone?" Mobius repeated.

"I don't know," Loki shrugged.

"You better figure it out quick, because my sister seems to think otherwise and the nexus event the three of you caused, whatever that connection is, can bring this whole place down. So we better understand..." Mobius explained.

"'We'?" Loki and Jamie questioned.

"Do you two swear she didn't implant those memories in Hunter C-20?" Mobius wondered.

"Mobius, no. we believe her," Jamie told him.

"So, I just have to trust the word of two Lokis and my time-jumping sister?" Mobius replied.

"How about the word of a friend and your sister?" Loki suggested.

"You two were right, about the TVA. You both were right from the beginning. And if you wanna save her, you need to trust me. Can we do that?" Mobius asked.

"Yes," Loki and Jamie answered.

"Okay. You could be whoever, whatever you wanna be, even someone good. I mean, just in case anyone ever told you different," Mobius said as he walked out.

Loki smiled at that and looked at Jamie.

"You really got him to listen?" Loki wondered.

"He saw the footage of C-20 on Renslayer's TemPad about what we told him. But things look good between us," Jamie answered.

"I'm glad to hear that," he said.

They then followed Mobius through the portal only to be stopped by Renslayer and some Minutemen.

"I think you have something of mine," Renslayer remarked.

"Yeah, I got all the way down there before I even realized I picked up yours," Mobius tried to play off as he handed it back then asked, "What's going on? What's the problem, Ravonna?"

Renslayer said nothing.

"You know where I'd go if I could go anywhere? Wherever it is I'm really from. Yeah, wherever I had a life before the TVA came along. Maybe I had a jet ski. That's what I'd like to do. Just riding around on my jet ski," Mobius explained.

"Prune him," Renslayer ordered.

One Minuteman got Mobius with the melt stick and he melted away while screaming in pain, making Renslayer turn away.

"No!" Jamie shouted as tears formed in her eyes.

Loki was hurt and shocked at what just happened. The only thing he could do was hold Jamie in his arms.

"Wait for me at the elevator," Renslayer told them.

Loki and Jamie were lead out of the room and to the elevator.

Renslayer went in to get Sylvie, who was drenching wet.

"Who was in here with her?" Renslayer asked.

"Sorry, ma'am, B-15 insisted," one of the Minutemen informed.

"Put out an alert for Hunter B-15. She too has been compromised by the Variant," Renslayer commanded.
