Chapter 19: Mission Approved

Mobius and the judge went back and forth on the plan until she eventually approved.

Meanwhile, Loki and Jamie were sitting outside the office again, waiting to hear the verdict.

"You really think she'll go for it? Because no offense to you, but neither one of us have the best reputations, here or in our timeline," she said.

"If it's the only way she sees capturing the other Loki, then yes. And judging by what we've done, I've done worse things than you, so your reputation is far better than mine," he told her.

"These people have put up with me for a long time though. They are annoyed with me continuously leaving and looking at different versions of my life," Jamie pointed out.

"Which proves that at least you know that we can go on different paths than what the TVA thinks we should take. You are the smartest person here," Loki responded.

She smiled and told him, "Thanks, Loki."

"Other than myself of course," he smirked.

Jamie giggled and remarked, "Fine. The smartest person who has been with the TVA longer."

"Agreed," Loki nodded.

Then Mobius exited the office, getting their attention.

"We're on. We are doing some good work today," Mobius informed.

"We thought so too," Loki replied.

"I'm tellin' you. You actually help us catch this Variant, and who knows, my friend," Mobius said.

"What, good enough for a face-to-face with the Time-Keepers?" Loki asked.

"And out of this place?" Jamie added.

"I didn't say that. One step at a time. But you will get the file on what happened after you died," Mobius said.

"All right. One step at a time," Loki agreed as Jamie nodded.

He then handed them both their own pair of daggers, which they admired.

"Just in case. Yeah, don't those feel..." Mobius said.

"Absolutely not," B-15 replied, taking the weapons away.

Then they all met up to go over the plan.

"Gather around for a briefing. Roxxcart is a vast superstore common to the era. It consists of a series of sprawling sections, including a large warehouse. This warehouse is being used by civilians as a shelter tryin' to ride out the storm. Remember, this is a class ten apocalypse. While the Variant shouldn't know we're coming, he could be hiding anywhere and should be considered hostile. So stay alert. Every time there is an attack, the Variant steals a reset charge. He's planning something. We just don't know what. So keep an eye out for the missing charges, and if you see a Loki, prune it," B-15 explained.

"The bad Loki, preferably," Loki clarified.
