The trio waited to hear what this guy had to say.

"Been a long journey for you, hasn't it? Lot of running, lot of pain. And you...you're a flea on the back of a dragon. In for one hell of a ride. But you did manage to hang on. Mmm-hmm. I guess that counts for something," He Who Remains said to Sylvie then added to Jamie, "And you, Miss Time-Jumper. You seemed to figure out more about me than you realize."

"How?" Jamie wondered.

"I'll show you in a minute," he told her.

"I'm not sure you quite understand the situation. You've lost. We found you," Loki stated.

"Duh. Of course you did," He Who Remains said.

Sylvie then attempted to kill him again, but the same result occurred.

"Whoa! A swing and a miss," he laughed as Sylvie growled then he continued, "So, we're still doing that, hmm? Let's get all this out of the way. Okay. Here we go. You can't kill me because I already know what's going to happen. See?"

"It's a parlor trick," Loki declared.

"Okay. Don't you wonder how I'm able to get out of the way just before you kill me?" He Who Remains asked.

"No. It's because of that little TemPad you have there," Sylvie pointed out.

"Right. But how do I already have it loaded up with everything I need to know to keep from being killed by you two? It's easy. I know it all. And I've seen it all. Everything you guys did on Lamentis, I saw. All the stuff the TVA didn't know about, I knew. All the scheming, all the..." He Who Remains explained, tutted, then added, "...talking. That little look by the lake. Quite sentimental, very touching stuff, by the way."

"No. No, we broke out of your little game. That's how we got here," Jamie said.

"No, wrong. Every step you took to get here, Lamentis, The Void, I paved the road. You...You just walked down it. And I have the rest, uh, right here. Everything that's, uh...that's going to happen. There's only one way this can go," He Who Remains told them.

"Then why are we here?" Loki asked.

"Oh, come on. You know you can't get to the end until you've been changed by the journey. This stuff, it needs to happen. To get us all in the right mindset to finish the quest. Right. Right," He Who Remains said.

They got up to see what looked like a script of everything they just said.

"So, it's all a game. It's all...a manipulation," Loki replied.

"Interesting, that your head would go to that. Sylvie, Jamie, you think you can trust this guy?" He Who Remains asked the women.

"Don't listen to him," Loki told them.

"'Don't listen to him'," He Who Remains mimicked, laughed, then continued, "Do you think you're even capable of trusting anyone at all? Or if you're truly a fan of them, you should know they have that kind of reputation. So why interact with them at all?"

"Because even though they may have made a living lying, they haven't lied to me. And they have made me feel like I'm not alone," Jamie said.

"Good for you," He Who Remains remarked.

Mobius continued to confront Renslayer until she left, determined to find "the only one with free will".

A/N I wished Renslayer got what was coming to her, but I guess there's more time for that.

This is what I have for now. I'll get more done during the week. Thanks so much guys!
