She's really very pretty Sheetal! You were definitely lucky for having both your daughter-in-laws really pretty!" One of the Aunty commented.

It had been about 2 hours and the ladies from in and around the neighborhood had gathered for this ceremony.

Swara's neck was now numb in pain and yet she had keep her head bent with the heavy veil over her head.

'Ouchh! I have to ask Swati to send me some ointment!' Swara thought to herself.

"Sheetal? I hope now you will keep your daughter-in-law in control!" One of the aunties in her late 60's spoke.

"Ya! Exactly...I mean Avni was really very nice and all but we have to agree she was a rebel...and her stubborn behavior led to...what it led."

"My daughter-in-law was a judge...I told her, If she wants to stay in my family with her husband and have a happy and peaceful life she needs to choose between her career and us...She chose us!"

"Ya! Nisha is a very good daughter-in-law!"

Swara froze when she realized these ladies wanted her to stop her job and continue to live inside the bars of a house, Just because now she was married.

She looked at her mother-in-law who was smiling and listening to all these trash talks.

'I am not quitting my career just because I got married...I will talk to Dr. Kunal!' She made up her mind.

"Beta(Child)? What is your qualification?" One of the aunty, questioned her.

"Neurosurgeon!" Swara always took pride in explaining her occupation and this time too she said it with pride.

"Huh?" The Aunty went blank upon hearing the word.

"OHH! Doctor? Ok nice! but listen...Now you are a married woman...taking care of your family should now be your priority...on top of that Aarav...He is not even related to you by blood...You need to think on how to form a bond with hi--" Another Aunty began providing her nonsense knowledge to Swara.

"I pity you all!"

The whole hall went mute. The Aunties were staring at the source of this comment with their nasty looks.

Swara's eyes were enlarged behind the veil. She lifted up her head and looked at her...Her Mother-in-law say these words.

"What do you mean?" One aunty asked Sheetal.

"Your daughter-in-law was a judge and you made her quit...I feel bad, whenever I think how that poor girl's hard work went in vain. On top of that, All of you have daughter-in-laws who are basically home makers...It's good...but...the world is changing and I think you all should too...Instead of imposing your useless beliefs on them why don't you support them to make them do something better in their lives?" Sheetal spoke with confidence while the other aunties were dumbstruck.

Swara was overjoyed...She couldn't believe her ears.

"Looks like Avni's case wasn't enough a learning for you!" Aunty mocked Sheetal.

"I am glad Avni made me understand the importance of a career oriented woman. I am proud for the way she was and what happened with her was her destiny...For this reason I will not impose any restrictions on My daughter-in-law now." Sheetal's chin was high in pride and Swara's happiness had lost boundaries.

"I am proud...That my previous daughter-in-law was a qualified Journalist and my Present daughter-in-law is a Doctor just like my son! I will never let her quit her job for the family when I know she is capable enough of handling home and work all together...and one more thing...as long as I am alive...why should she bother about home?" Sheetal continued and left every women in the room dumbstruck.

"If you continue this way Sheetal...You will loose your grip over this daughter-in-law of yours." The aunties now began mocking Sheetal.

"That won't be necessary Aunty!" Everyone looked at Swara with shock.

A newly wed bride dared to open her mouth in front so many 'EXPERIENCED' Ladies.

"Maa! Will never really have to bother about 'GRIP' for that matter, I am always there at her beck and call...SO? Thanks a lot for your worry!"

Even though Swara was wearing a veil people could see her mocking smile through the transparent veil.

"Your luck is still the same I see Sheetal!... Your second daughter-in-law is exactly as stubborn as your first one..." The aunties were now irritated of the 'In Law' duo here.

"You are right! I am really very lucky to have both my daughter-in-laws brave and strong...I mean Stubborn in your words!" Sheetal mocked them harder.

"Let's continue with the meal!" Sheetal finally changed the topic.

After a lot of insult...they definitely shouldn't have stayed yet they had their meals and left  after giving a so called warning to Sheetal.

"Go and rest Swara! We have your reception(After wedding party) in the evening...Also...Here take this Saree...I want you to wear this in the evening. I hope it's ok with you!" Sheetal handed a very pretty maroon colored Saree with golden embroidery on it.

Swara gladly accepted it. When Sheetal was about to leave, Swara hugged her from the back. This action of hers stunned Sheetal.

"Thank you Maa! Thank you so much for standing up for me today!" Swara expressed her gratitude exactly how she did with her mother.

Sheetal smiled but didn't let Swara see it. She tapped Swara's hand that was around her shoulder. "I didn't want to repeat the mistakes I made with Avni!"

Swara's grip suddenly loosened upon hearing Avni's name. "She is the one that taught me a lot before she left...Finally when I accepted her as my 'DAUGHTER' She gave me the punishment I deserved for treating her the way I did."

Sheetal suddenly sobbed.

"Go and rest, Swara beta! You might be tired...You and Kunal are expected to be there by six...but The rest of us will leave early and Karan will pick you both from here." Sheetal turned around to look at Swara.

"Go and rest!" Her tone had warmth in it while she slowly caressed Swara's cheek...that made her forget how much she missed her mother.

Swara was happy for the way everything turned out to be...but one thing that was hard to forget was Avni.

'She was definitely a lovely person but I wonder what happened.' Swara wondered.

Upon reaching her room, Swara slowly removed her jewelries and placed into the same drawer Kunal had put them. Now, she was aware of Kunal's OCD and she knew she had to take care of it.

She changed into a pair of shorts and a crop top.

Swara put on her earphones and played her favorite song...with this she was easily able to unpack her luggage and arrange it in the same cupboard as Kunal's...She noticed all of his clothes are either in shades of blue or plain black...

Black was definitely a universal color but she liked bright colors especially red.

She danced to the beats of the songs that played and neatly arranged all her belongings...The cupboard where Kunal's suits and clothes were placed now, had colorful pair of clothing beside them...two times smaller than Kunal's clothing size.
