Swara stood there in utter shock. Vini stood in front of her with a sweet smile.
Looks like her Mumma just forgot that her biological Dadda was also present over there.
Swara freaked out...she hugged her little baby as if someone would snatch her away. she feared that today might be the day Kunal actually punished her for not being able to punish her back then.
Swara held Vini's hand and dragged her to a room, faraway from Kunal's. Squatting in front of her daughter she set her hair ..."Listen! Vini, you're a good girl...don't go anywhere stay here Mumma will take you home ok?"
Vini looked a little sad as she wanted to go home and bake some cookies with her mom. Agreeing to what Swara said Vini sat in one corner quietly waiting for her mother to return.
Swara made her way into Kunal's office, with a poker face.
"Kunal, I have to leave there's some--" Swara paused taking in Kunal's curious look, she realized facing him in reality was much harder than what she had been manifesting all this while. "Some work...I-I need to leave."
He shut the files he was reading getting up from his place. "What work is more important than your job? Aren't you in need of money?"
Swara gritted her teeth at his careless remark. He sure made her sound like someone desperate for money...she bit a harsh comment acknowledging the fact that her daughter...Her and Kunal's daughter should not be discovered by him...he is a person who just deeply wishes to ruin her life and no way she would let her daughter be taken away from her.
"I don't think, I have to give any explanation....I'm not working under you." She sternly replied.
Kunal walked over to the side table decorated with different kinds of liquor.
He poured some liquor into two different glasses, bringing one of them towards her.
Swara raised her hand, denying to take the glass. He chuckled, pouring all of the remaining liquor in his glass, he further pretended to take in the aroma of the liquor followed by a sip.
"So you've now become an alcoholic?" Swara muttered, shutting her mouth immediately after thinking out loud.
The man chuckled.
"Why do you still remember my habits? Aren't you married already?"
She crinkled her nose, giving it a hard denial. "No!"
"I saw you with him that day...when you were leaving from Samira's house and even that evening when he carried you to the car."
"He's not my husband he--"
"Oh! You're boyfriend then?"
Swara suddenly realized she isn't obliged to answer any of his questions and kept quiet.
"I need to leave!"
She turned around to leave when his chuckle stopped her tracks.
"So he's your boyfriend." He took a sip of the liquor. "When did you meet him? Before you ran away or after?"
Swara clenched her fists walking further away from him...when Kunal held her wrist and spun her around.
This time he had tears in his eyes...very evident and painful tears.
"Leave me alone Kunal!" Swara said stubbornly.
"I have many questions in my head...and one day you will be forced to answer hem all, but today...I want to know Where are my kids? where are our twins?"
