"Crying is all right in its way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later, and then you still have to decide what to do."

"Why did you have to teach me only one dish? What am I going to do tomorrow?" Swara was whisper yelling at her mother.
Kunal and Aarav were peacefully asleep on the bed as she stood in the balcony talking to her mother. It had been a few days since her marriage and today morning she got to know that her Mother-in-law has invited a few of her friends for lunch.
If you are thinking Swara hates guests or something, you are wrong...because she loves interaction and everything...The only thing that had her pissed was the bomb her Mother-in-law dropped.
Apparently, tomorrow was Swara's rasoi ceremony and she assumed she would have to just cook a sweet dish but today she gets to know she is suppose to cook Lunch for the guests arriving tomorrow.
The last thing she had ever cooked in her life was Maggi.
How was she supposed to cook for ten people tomorrow? It was definitely not like she never tried to cook or was never interested...it was more like she was always busy studying and after that busy serving, in the hospital...So practically she never really had the time to learn cooking.
"It is your house now, deal with it!" Her mom yelled because it had almost been one hour and Swara cried over the same thing!- How will I cook Mumma?
After one hour, Swara's mom cut the call and Swara was literally stressed over what to cook...more like how to cook.
She turned around to take a glance at Kunal and Aarav who were asleep...She tied her hair into a bun with decision of acing tomorrows ceremony like a pro.
She was reminded of her Anatomy exam... When she had less than twenty four hrs to prepare for her Anatomy exam only because she had to be there for her grand ma's last rites...and how she spent the whole night studying and ended up acing the exam...with 95% score.
Swara switched open the net searching for various cooking videos...and literally memorizing the recipes.
Her neck was on the verge of breaking because of how frequently she slept on the couch.
Every night Kunal tried various ways of making Aarav to let her sleep on the bed...but Aarav was too stubborn just like BOTH his mothers.
Swara opened the tube to apply the ointment on her neck. It had been the second night when she was literally unable to sleep because of the screaming pain in her neck, Yet, she quietly bared it.
"Why do you fry the garam masala first and then put the other ingredients...? " She yelled but not a very loud one, after all Kunal and Aarav shouldn't have woken up because of it.
She stood from the couch and began walking towards the balcony, for a break. Taking out the ointment in her hand she started massaging her neck.
Call it Doctor instincts or just a sharp sense of smell. The strong sent of he ointment had woken Kunal up.
He saw Swara in the balcony...walking back and forth and applying something on her neck, which he knew was an ointment. On top of that, he felt as if there was someone other than them in the room who was speaking in a subdued manner and Swara's phone caught his attention.
Concentrating on the voice he realized it was some cooking video.
She was frustrated and Kunal had no idea why was she awake at this hour.
As he was unaware of what was going inside her mind...he decided to stay put and maybe observe if she was ok. He did think of approaching her but then he though that maybe, that would freak her out.
New relations. None of them know each other that well.
After a while of walking back and forth, Swara leaned on the balcony's wall and slowly slid in a manner that she could hug her knees and with that...As one drop of tear dared to escape her waterline...Swara wiped it away.
She felt lonely even when she was always surrounded by people. She wiped her tears away not even emoting the expression of sadness. That is how she had become over a year.
Kunal noticed how every time she wiped her tears in an attempt to not cry. This is an irregular human behavior. Not expressing emotions can become a huge problem that people don't understand. You need to know that it is absolutely fine to show how you feel.
He sighed before getting off the bed and walking in her direction.
"Hey!? What's the matter?" He squatted before her and asked her.
She had hugged her knees and had placed her forehead on her knee, trying not to sob. Upon hearing Kunal, she squirmed. Definitely, she hadn't expected Kunal to be awake at this hour.
Confused between her juggling thoughts, she looked away from him and immediately wiped another tear that was about to roll down.
"I-I umm...nothing important!" she found it extremely hard to look into his eyes.
Everyday, Kunal and Swara met...the tone they used with each other was exactly the same as meeting your neighbors. Not very formal, not very informal.
A simple smile and Kunal went to the hospital as Swara got busy with the house hold.
Their talks never really consisted of How was your day? What have you been up to? Let's watch a movie? or maybe tell me something about you!
Tomorrow was the last ceremony she had to attend and after that she was free to resume with her job.
What she always thanked god for was, Her in-laws being pretty open minded about her working after marriage...
After days of smile zoning one another this was the first time ever Kunal had spoken to her about something other than nothing. Even if that had required an UN-crying Swara.
"Well! It's sure been a few days since I've known you but I know for sure, you wouldn't be up this late if it wasn't important." Kunal stated and seated beside her, with his back against the wall and his right leg over his left.
When his shoulders brushed against her she looked at him figuring out what he was doing. Kunal was just innocently sitting beside her but Upon realizing her facing him, he instantly looked at her with a smile and those gorgeous dimples sinking in.
It was just within the moment of realization, when Kunal and Swara were hopelessly close to one another. Looking into each others eyes.
The empty eyes watching the show of life, The racing heartbeat adding a rhythm to their paused story, Ears catching the anthem of life and shortened breath sensing the aroma of the beginning of a new life, a new relation and a new story.
