It was a peaceful night in Ninjago. The sky was clear and the moon was bright. A perfect warm sommer night. The master of lightning was holding his Yin in his arms. Sniffing her coconut shampooed hair.

"Did you see that shooting star?" Nya asked excited. Pointing into the sky. The two of them where currently in the Cort yard of the Monastery. Laying on a blanked, talking about all sorts of things. Projects they could do together, their dancing lessons, the others and of course some early wedding planning.

"I think our parents should sit on our table" Nya said as she looked at her Yang. "but then my parents would probably sit next to Cole. I don't want him nor them telling each other embarrassing things I do" Jay said as he took a deep breath in. Her hair smells so nice he thought and closed his eyes. For a few minutes their was silence.

"Hey Nya?" he asked to get her attention. "Yeah?" - "How.." he started. Thinking about what to say. Nya turned around in his arm to see him better. "How did you and Kai manage school and the shop when you where kids?" he asked carefully. Trying not to hurt her feelings in any way.

Nya looked at him. A bit confused since that question came a bit random. "Well we.. We had no choice back then. It was either manage or starve" she said kind of harsh. Jay looked at her a bit shocked. "Kai took over all responsibility and I went to school and did the household" She explained as she sat up. "and on some days he couldn't go to school because of specific orders we got from our costumes." she said. "Kai is genuinely smart.. He just had to skip school a lot" she started to kind of defend him for sometimes not knowing things.

Jay sat up as well and laid an arm around her: "Hey I know Kai is smart. We all are smart. Some more then others" he said. Then getting nervous after he realized what he just said. "I-I mean Zane of course. We all look kind of dump next to him" Jay scratched the back of his head. "e-except you of course" he tried saving. Nya raised an eyebrow. Then giggled at his red face. She looked up into the sky.

"Yeah it just... Sometimes feels like it was my fault" Nya admitted. "why?" he asked confused. "Kai never really explained to me why Mom and Dad where gone. I mean he didn't know but I always thought they left because of me. On that day I was specifically clingy and annoying so my parents sent us outside to play. Then whey where gone. Now I know it wasn't my fault but I....i used to think that it was. And when Kai had to skip school and work hard I felt guilty that I didn't helped. That I went to school and got educated" she admitted. Getting a bit teary.

Kai could hear them talking. His window was just outside the wall that was around the Cort yard so he could listen to all their 'privat' conversations - not that he always wanted to hear them talk. But this time he did. He never knew that she thought it was her fault.

The fire ninja looked up at the cailing. Remembering how she always wanted to help and he always blew her off. He just wanted her to have a 'normal' childhood. When all she thought about was him. "I felt like I ruined his childhood" He could hear her say. She sounded hurt. He wanted to tell her that she didn't ruin his childhood. That he chose to take the responsibility away from her. But how should he tell them that he heard them every time they where out their.

"it's okay" Jay said laying an arm around her. "I am sure you didn't ruin anything for him. I bet Kai always wanted you to have a somewhat normal life" he wiped away her tear. "I never meant to. I hope he knows that" Nya said as she laid down her head on Jay's shoulder.

Kai nodded. "you didn't ruin anything sis" Kai whispered to himself as he turned around to face the wall. Then he closed his eyes and went to sleep....
