Before Jeno began putting in a number, he had to think about who he needed to call.
His first instinct would be to call Jaemin of course but the boy had yet to be a public member. If he called Jaemin now, it would give away his secret membership to Eunjin.
Could he trust her? Probably. Did he want to take the chance anyway? No.
The second person to come to mind was Mark. It only took a few seconds to put in his number. A few rings and he had picked up yet before he could even ask who the new number was, Jeno had already begun talking.
He informed Mark quietly of what was happening, the sound of the three men shooting at random objects just barely covering his voice.
Eunjin acted as a lookout to make sure no one was around. But a new headache forming was making the job harder to keep up with.
The sound of gunshots coming from every direction around them was beginning to account for a new ringing sound in her ears. Grabbing and blocking her ears helped none, just barely quieting the sound.
A bubbling sense of agony began rising from her stomach as her vision began to blur, making her fall back slightly.
Jeno reached out, catching her gently and setting her down. Looking down at her face, he took notice of the few beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
Keeping Jaemin a secret was becoming harder. In moments like this where he had to watch Eunjin get warmer and pass out, he wished he could ask his medicinal friend to come help.
It was quite a risk for Jaemin to help the other night when Eunjin was attacked but they were lucky she hadn't woken up while he was helping.
"Okay, so why can't you just say yes and go on a date with the guy?" Jihoon laughed, grabbing a bag of chips.
Eunjin scoffed, "no thanks. He's creepy and quite frankly I'm pretty sure he only wants to get close to
me so he can join. Plus, you know my father wouldn't allow it. He still thinks we're in a relationship."Jihoon nodded, "right, I keep forgetting about that. It's so weird having to pretend to like each other. If anything, someone could use it as-"
A shriek came from the two as painful bullets ruptured through their legs, the left leg of Jihoon and the right leg of Eunjin.
It was so unexpected neither of them had time to pull out their guns to try fighting. Their knees buckled before they could do anything and their heads hit one of the shelves.
Two faces inched closer to them, yellow teeth and thick scents of cigarettes causing the two to scrunch their noses in disgust.
The two men noticed this, laughing evilly as they got closer, their buff arms holding down Jihoon and Eunjin to keep them from moving.
Their hands stretched upward, the putrid smell of sweat and other body odors almost enough to make the teenagers begin gagging.
Jihoon and Eunjin gasped as they felt the men grab their hair, yanking it harshly as they forcefully tilted their heads. The pain spread throughout their scalps and if they hadn't been accustomed to lots of pain, they would've definitely had tears in their eyes.
"What are you two freaks doing? They're hurt and can barely move, let's get a move on it. You can kill them when we're done, let them sit in pain for a while."
Eunjin could just barely look up against the tightening grip on her hair. Before she could completely register everything happening, her vision began blurring once again.
"Eunjin, come on, come on, are you okay?"
That face, that voice, the girl from her memory. The flashback, whatever it was. Whatever she was remembering. She knew that face. She knew that voice.
"My teammate Mark will be here any moment with the others but you need to stay conscious," he told her, helping her sit up against his chest.
She tried nodding but the pain was too much. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and stop shaking. The recent headaches were becoming much worse and she didn't know how to stop them.
Shivers went down her spine as she tried remembering her flashback. She knew it was herself and she could slightly remember the boy she was talking to but it felt like the person from her flashback was a completely different version of herself.
It felt like her head was splitting in half trying to regain old memories while retaining the new ones.
Even looking back on when she first began recovering, it felt like she was different now. Maybe it was because she was finally growing into the person she used to be.
But then again, she didn't know if she wanted to be that person again. With every flashback she got, it felt like a chip of her new self was being replaced with her old self.
And from what she could tell when analyzing the flashbacks and irregular dreams, she was not an all too happy person before.
It felt like whenever she got a flashback she was always shocked, sad, angry, or upset. Yet she could seldom tell why she felt such a way. Every time she remembered her past, they were brutal memories.
It made her wonder if she was just reliving her worst moments or if every day of her previous life was always the same.
She tried not to pander any longer, finally focusing back on the situation at hand. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught glimpse of someone approaching.
ALRIGHT, how's it going
