"No, you don't understand. That baby has been holding me down for way too long. I don't know how it acted with you but with me, it was always screaming or crying and giving me a constant headache."
Eunjin laughed, taking a seat next to him. Her eyes wandered around the library, looking at the different spines of all the books lining the walls. "Five weeks with that baby was more than enough."
Jaemin nodded, "I hope that if I ever have kids, they're calmer. The constant screaming- even from a digital voice box- is so draining."
There was a small moment of silence before Eunjin sat her book down and propped her chin on her fist. She tilted her head as she watched Jaemin read, "do you want kids?"
Jaemin heard her question and sat his book down, he hummed slightly while leaning against the back of the wooden chair. "Definitely. I want three kids in the future. What about you?"
Eunjin sat upright, thinking about the question. "I don't know honestly. I don't think I've ever wanted any. The thought of childbirth and everything that could happen just really," she paused, trying to think of the word, "terrifies me. If I ever do have kids, I'd probably have to adopt."
"That's understandable. Now that I think about it, there are a lot of things that could go wrong. Definitely something that my partner and I will have to discuss," he nodded.
"Yes, definitely something to discuss," she laughed softly. "The future is so uncertain it kind of worries me."
Jaemin smiled, "it is uncertain, isn't it? But that's what makes it so... entertaining? We get to choose what we do. We get to decide what path we want to take in life."
Eunjin nodded, "yeah but I don't know what path I want to take. There are so many options but I'll never get the chance to try all of them out, you know? Like right now we're studying for health class, right? In reality, I could be some kind of prodigy at golf or something."
"Really? Golf?" Jaemin laughed.
"It was just an example," Eunjin sighed, putting her head in her arms out of slight embarrassment. "You know what I mean."
He nodded, "yeah, yeah, I know. Just playing."
"Did you bring the folder with all the photos?" Eunjin asked, sitting down in her chair beside Jeno.
The blonde boy's eyes slightly widened as he looked over at Eunjin. "I thought you had it?"
Her panicked face made him slightly laugh before he reached down, pulling the journal and picture folder out of his bag. "Kidding, of course."
Eunjin let out a relieved sigh before turning towards the boy, hitting him on the shoulder harshly.
Jeno winced slightly yet his smile didn't drop. "It was a joke, why the violence?" Eunjin rolled her eyes, ignoring his question as she tried to hide her smile.
The two were silent when the sound of heels clicking against the cold glossed grounds began echoing from the hallways. It was a sign that their professor had finally arrived.
"Good morning, everyone," she smiled. "Or, should I say good afternoon? Either way, I hope you all are well rested and ready for class today. First things first, it's finally the end of your original Chrysanthemum project!"
The class erupted in cheers and claps at the mention of the project name. It had proved to be a rather fun experience over time. Most desk partners were close or at least thought of each other as friends. It was a success.
"But I've got some news! I know I originally said this project would only last for about five weeks, correct? Well, I've decided to give you all some extra credit points. You don't have to do this but it could benefit some of you."
She took a seat on her desk before going any further. "For one-hundred extra points, you and your partner can continue the project for five weeks. If you don't wish to continue working for five more weeks, you can shorten it— but the points will also be split! For example, if you decide to do two and a half weeks instead of five, you can receive fifty points. But, of course, this is assuming that you continue and meet all of the requirements correctly. Would anyone be interested?"
Jeno immediately turned to his right and looked at Eunjin, "want some extra credit?"
She smiled in return, "is that really a question? It's practically free points."
pretend y'all didn't see those exclamation points if you got a notification. i just forgot to remove them 🏃🏽♀️
were you expecting such a big time jump?
cause i wasn't 👩🏽🦯
i didn't plan well enough and i don't want to get jeno and eunjin together after only five weeks when jeno is a whole ass gang member and eunjin [THINKS SHE] is a regular civilian 😭
but then again bella and edward were only together for like two years and were already married with a kid so who's to say five weeks is too short**disclaimer: another time jump coming soon 💆🏽♀️
i've already got prompts for the next chapters so now i've just got to figure out how to make them actual long paragraphs 🕺
anyways remember how i said i was excited to read books and write some more this summer? that literally backfired so hard 😭
i've only read ONE book this summer and my updates got slower lmao but i'll hopefully have this book completed before august! so watch out for that 👀
