Heya! NOT quitting this book, dw, just saying that I'm trying to start up freelance writing! ...If any of you actually know how I could do this that would be great :')

This is maybe my favorite AU that isn't watcher or winged Grian lol.

Also a kinda enemies to lovers / strangers to lovers. Not usually my cup of tea but I'm good w/ it.

Grian looked around cautiously, trying to pinpoint his opponents exact location.

Bedwars was a highly dangerous game. The bed respawn mechanism was often glitched as it commonly ran without admin support, meaning you could not only respawn with permanently crippling injuries, but you might not even respawn at all. And that was with the beds. If your bed was broken and you died, you died.

Technically, the strawberry-blonde wasn't even eligible for bedwars. You had to be over eighteen, and he was sixteen. No-one actually cared about those rules, however, and he had yet to be disallowed to play a game.

He hadn't lost a game yet.

Infact, he'd been playing so many games for so long that he held 3rd place on Hypixel leaderboards, and he'd only been playing two years, since he was fourteen.

He had 150,000+ kills, and over 600,000 wins.

He was an avian hybrid, but a mix of treachery and accidents led to his wings demise, so he was left wing-less. He still chirped, his eyesight was still much better than others, and his ears were still much pointier, but he couldn't fly.

Bows were his main weapon, but he also kicked ass with tridents. Grian's specialty was in the free-for-all events, and he was a two-time MCC winner, having won MCC 56 and MCC 58.

His quick rise in ranks had made him a legend among other aspiring bedwars players, and often got him easy wins.

Grian had yet to meet the infamous Dream and Technoblade.

He was about to.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Dream held 2nd place on the Hypixel Bedwars leaderboards at only seventeen.

He'd started when he was thirteen. It had been a foolish dare, one they hadn't thought through properly. It was the battle that had permanently scarred his face, and the one that made him don the mask.

His next battle was when he had just turned fourteen. He'd tried to stay out of the ring, but it had become harder and harder with every day.

His specialty was swords, so he did well in 1V1s. Because of his face, he often resented working in teams. His poisonous laugh and the fact that he toyed with his prey, often forming superficial 'connections' with them meant he got supporters early on, and that fact only fueled his need to fight.

It was like a sport to him.

He made a few actual connections, like his often claimed 'comrades' George and Sapnap, but he mainly kept himself distanced from others.

He'd met Technoblade in MCC a few times, often fighting him or exchanging snide comments, but he didn't hate the man as much as portrayed, though that was mainly because he rarely saw the hybrid.

He lied about his age constantly, and he was around twenty according to the public.

As a four time MCC winner (57, 54, 39, and 59), Dream was a highly esteemed competitor. So he cared about his ranking a lot.

So when fast-climber 'Grian' quickly ranked 3rd, he knew. Though he'd never met the man, he already had a pre-determined rivalry with him.

That was all about to change, however.
