Chapter 99

Each of their glasses shake as their hands tremble in so much annoyance staring at each other. Natigilan lang sila at sabay na ngumiti kay Isabel nang tumikhim ito para magsalita. 

"I didn't know that you two knew each other."

"Who wouldn't know the beast of the war."

"And who wouldn't know him as the only son of the prime minister."

"Are you insulting me?"

"No."

"It seems you are. Are you not happy that your cousin married me?"

"Ha. Ha. Why shouldn't I when my cousin is happy?"

Ngumiti si Yanna at itinaas ang kanang kamay sa ere saka hinawakan ang kamay ni Matthew at kinuha ang baso nito na may lamang alak. 

"Enough both of you."

"What do you mean?" bulong ni Matthew kay Yanna. 

"Aw." 

"Stop it if you don't want Isabel to get sad." bantang sabi ni Yanna habang kinukurot ang tagiliran ni Matthew.

Yanna turned to Isabel and smiled. 

"Isabel I hope you understand. They didn't have a good relationship with each other. But I think they could start a new life. We can start to bond together. They were still immature before that's why. And I believe they can build a friendship now as they are now both mature. Let bygones be bygones."

"What? No way. I cannot do that–aw."

"No way. I know my father was a traitor and greedy but I still have my pride. I don't wan't to start a friendship with him after all what happened. And I can still even remember what he did to me before when were still young."

Nagulat silang lahat nang malakas na binagsak ni Yanna ang kanyang kamay sa mesa. 

"You are even friends now with Philip that drew you doing things with other women that you wanted to kill him before because of embarrassment. And you don't want to forgive my husband just because you can't forget what he did to you when you were both young?"

"Ha. What a jerk." Taas-noong bulong ni Matthew.

"And you!"

"W-why?"

"We came here to meet the husband of your cousin. You should thank him that he stayed with Isabel's side during the war."

"B-but–"

"If you don't make up by this day I will throw you both to the forest of beasts and let yourselves chew into pieces."

"M-my empress... y-you are joking right?" nauutal na tanong ni Matthew saka napayuko nang makitang seryoso si Yanna. 

Samantalang sabay naman na natawa sina Luke at Yuhan na nanunuod lang sa kanila. 

"He is really afraid of his wife." natatawang sabi ni Luke habang nagpailing-iling.

"I think her majesty is right. They just need forgiveness of each other. There must be a reason why they can't accept each other. Did they have a big fight before when they were young?"

"Psh. I can't really say that it was a big fight because it was just because of a kite competition. Simon thought that Matthew cheated him and cut his leash which Andrew mistakenly cut as he thought it was Matthew's kite."

"Really? I have heard it before but I didn't know that their fight really started at that time. And I find it absurd that the reason of their fight is really small. It was just a child fight and I think it is normal."
