Chapter 39

"Brother Matthew, you need to eat a lot. I made this soup by myself. It is good for your health."

"Thank you." Nakangiting tinanggap ni Matthew ang mangkok at walang pagdadalawang-isip na ininom ang sabaw.

Nakataas ang kilay na kinuha ni Yanna ang sabaw na nasa harapan niya kagaya nang kay Matthew.

Nakaupo siya sa kanang bahagi ni Matthew samantalang nasa kaliwang bahagi naman si Naomi.

Kanina pa siya naiirita at nagngangaling tirisin si Naomi.

Tumikhim ang Prime Minister at ngumiti.

"Your highness, it is such a great honor to have you here in my humble home. Though my mansion is not that big than the palace, but I hope you that will enjoy your stay here and your wife. Her majesty, Empress consort Jing will also arrive here to enjoy the festival."

Ibinaba ni Matthew ang mangkok at nakangiti na hinarap si Prime Minister Mo.

"Thank you so much Prime Minister Mo. You are the only great and loyal official that my Mother trusted, and I know you will never let her down. I decided to stay here to spent more time with my sister as I miss her so much."

Ngumiti si Rachel sa sinabi ni Matthew.

Samantalang si Yanna naman ay inikot ang mga mata habang nakayuko.

"Tch! Halata naman kasi. Baka naman siblings by blood kayo tapos lovers by heart pala." Bulong ni Yanna.

Madame Mo chuckled to get the attention of Yanna.

Yanna looked up and smiled at Madame Mo.

"Your highness, I hope you are feeling comfortable staying here." Nakangiting sabi ni Madame Mo sa kanya.

Matagal bago sumagot si Yanna saka tiningnan si Matthew na ngumiti sa kanya pero inikutan niya ito ng mga mata na kinakunot ng noo ni Matthew bago nakangiti niya ulit na hinarap si Madame Mo.

"Thank you for your concern. Forgive me if I don't talk that much as I am tired from the travel." Sagot ni Yanna.

Agad naman na tumayo si Rachel at lumapit kay Yanna.

"I will take her highness to her room." Nakangiting sabi ni Rachel saka nginitian si Matthew.

Ngumiti naman si Matthew kay Rachel at sumenyas pa ng pasasalamat sa kapatid.

Tumayo naman si Yanna at nagpaalam sa mga tao sa loob saka lumabas.

"I hope my wife's mood doesn't make all of you feel uncomfortable." Paghingi ng paumanhin ni Matthew sa lahat.

Agad namang tumayo si Martin na panganay na anak ni Prime Minister Mo at asawa ni Rachel.

"Your highness, we understand that her highness is very tired. Rachel said that she is cheerful. She likes her and I think they will understand each other. I thank you for bringing her highness here, somehow she lightens up Rachel's mood. Rachel was feeling down these days and I saw that Rachel was laughing by her highness silly jokes." Sabi ni Martin.

"Maybe it's because she was born ignorant and has no manner. That isn't supposed to be the attitude of a consort." Sabat ni Naomi.

Matagal bago sumagot si Matthew.

"Really?" Sabi ni Matthew kay Martin sa walang reaksiyon na mukha na para bang hindi niya narinig ang sinabi ni Naomi.

Tumayo din naman si Prime Minister Mo.

"Your highness, forgive the rudeness of my son that he used a bad descriptive word for her highness'  attitude. I think Martin was referring how cheerful your wife is." Magalang na pagtatama ni Prime Minister Mo saka palihim na sinenyasan si Martin na humingi ng tawad.
