Regrets of past - 62

The air become thick and heavy.

If something made Byeol's heart little less heavy is what she saw in the man's eyes,in her father's eyes.

She hated to admit it,but she saw his eyes flash remorse and guilt for a split second before going back to it's usual coldness.

"I've done everything to protect you and them",Shin Jae said gesturing them all three,which got all of them confused for a second.

Byeol coughed out a humorless laugh,her eyes dark and lifeless at the point,gazing Shin Jae.

"Believe me Byeol",Shin Jae's voice wavered as he approached her on the sofa.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!! AND DON'T FUCKING DARE TO CAll ME THAT!!!",Byeol yelled causing the sound bounce off the silent living room's walls.

"I'm not my mother,who believed all your bullshit and still loved you to the very end of her life.You are a monster to me and I'm never changing my mind on that",Byeol said her words held poison.

"From the very first time I found that you were my biological father,I felt nothing but hater for you and what all you did added it up like oil to the fire.I hate you and I despise you",Byeol said with a hard stare.

Haru was still confused and looked over at Taehyung,who's eyes flickering between Shin Jae and fuming Byeol.

Taehyung was scared and angry,his eyes showed.

Scared that his Byeol might get hurt.

And Angry that he was helpless to help her at the moment.

"I know I'm a monster.I killed many innocent people,but I'm not here to ask forgiveness. I know what all I did in past and present would never deserves a forgiveness.",He paused and looked at Byeol, Taehyung and Haru in eye,"But I did all that to save you all.What us adults sinned have nothing to do with you guys.You were all innocent and doesn't deserve to fall as prey in this mess",Shin Jae's voice crackled.

Taehyung's and Byeol's mind again divide in confusion and anger.

"Killing mine and Haru's parents,is what you call protecting us?Do you even realise that you have even killed Byeol's brother and nearly killed her too!!This is what you call protecting?", Taehyung shouted.

Shin Jae sighed.

"I know this was the most worst way to save someone,but I was helpless and desperate.I admit that I intentionally killed Kim Min Ho,but I never intended or had the heart to kill your Dad and Mom.Your mother was like my own little sister and your Dad was my bestfriend from they day I remember this world.But I was forced!,if I didn't kill your family members I would have lost Byeol and Haru would have got killed too!",Shin Jae said plopping on the carpet of the living room,his body trembling with unsaid pain and regrets.

Haru's body froze hearing the familiar name of his dad rolling off from the tongue of the person who kidnapped them all and claiming to be the birth father of Byeol.

"Yes I'm selfish!! Because all I had left with after Ara's death was Byeol.I didn't dare to touch her when she was just a new born,I was scared that I would tain that pure angel.My hands and heart was dirty,it had blood,hater,anger and resentment.I didn't dare to keep Byeol with me,I didn't deserve to raise her and to be proud of her as her father.I was a monster who was responsible for her mother's death and many people's death because of my vengeance disguised in the name of love.It wasn't love.The real love was what Ara,my wife showed me and I was ignorant of such a pure love and affection.If only I didn't let my emotions and lost self control take over my conscience, I would have been a happy man and all of the people I loved would have been alive and happy,and you kids wouldn't have been pushed to grown in pain and hurt",Shin Jae said his eyes now flowing out tears.

Seeing the man she hated from the day knowing his existence cry, something tugged Byeol's heart.

She heard people say love is powerful.

It can either make you fly up in the heaven or burn you into ashes in the hell.

"Though I never been a good person to anyone,I still loved Daisy that I wanted to save her son and I promised your father to take care of you from the time you born, Taehyung.But I can't stand the fact you might potentially hurt my daughter for the sins I committed by using the name love.Enough of people falling victims in the name of love.No on deserve to be hurted and tortured in the name of love.",Shin Jae looked at Taehyung with pleading eyes.

Byeol turned towards Taehyung and smiled sadly.Her smile wasn't tinted with even a bit of anger or disappointment, rather apologizing.

Taehyung heart crushed seeing her like that,he never in thousand worlds thought of hurting Byeol for what her Father did to his family.

He was infact enraged knowing the truth of Shin Jae being Byeol's biological father from his dad before he was murdered.Taehyung wasn't totally angry on Byeol,damn he can be never be angry on her.

He was just disappointed and hurt knowing that his love of life was actually the blood of his mortal enemy,but he remembered what his dad told him.

"What the parents have done has nothing to do with their children.You aren't defined for whom you born for,but who you become of"

It horboured his racing mind and emotions.

There's no fault on Byeol,and the fact she was herself unaware of the truth of being Shin Jae's daughter for more than half of her life and later hearing the tragic past of her mother with Shin Jae,also how lot of things went down made Taehyung clear his mind and made him able to see right from wrong.

He stood in her shoes to see what all she endured for something she doesn't even have part in,but nonetheless this all even increased his love for Byeol in a way.He could know more about her and still love her little more.

He can never and ever hurt Byeol, because,she is more important to him than himself.

"But from whom are you protecting us from?",out nowhere Byeol voiced out, disturbing Taehyung's trail of thoughts.

"From me",A woman voice echoed the room and a fragile figure in Black clothes and hood shielding it's face step inside the room following two dead and badly brusied body of men fell into the room.

All of them in the room started panic and Shin Jae stood up from his place on the floor and went to shield Byeol from the intruder.

"Don't you dare!!!",Shin Jae barked at the woman who slowly removed her hood making Taehyung and Byeol gasp.

"M-Mom",Byeol chocked out eyes meeting the woman who exactly looked like her mother.

Looked like Lee Ara,who she saw only in pictures.
