The clattering of dishes caused Shayne to jump. He scrambled against the couch, looking down to see he was covered with a knitted blanket that was a movie poster of Jaws. He rubbed the tiredness of his eyes, looking around to observe the odd décor in the living room. Scooby Doo was playing on television, but it was muted. He turned around, looking behind himself to see Jade standing in the kitchen. She was making something to eat. Shayne furrowed his brow and cleared his throat. Jade turned around, a spoonful of peanut butter hanging from her mouth. "Good morning." She said, withdrawing the silverware. Shayne let out a groan. "Gill is going to murder me." He said, standing up and stretching.

"She's not going to do anything." Jade assured, shoveling the food into a bowl. She had made enough for Shayne as well. She walked into the living room and seated herself on the couch. "I thought I told you not to stay." She said, placing the bowl on the coffee table. "And I had no intention of staying. But when I walked outside and sat in my car for a few moments, I realized that Gill was right. You shouldn't have been left alone. What if something happened?" Jade chuckled. "I feel fine now." She said. This appeared to be true as Shayne gazed at her face. Her color had been placed back into her cheeks. Her eyes were a little dark from lack of sleep. Her cheeks were not sunk in and she looked normal.

She patted the cushion beside her. "Come sit down and have breakfast." She said. Shayne wanted to leave, but he was feeling a little hungry. His stomach rumbled at the smell that filled the room. It was caramelized onions and garlic that he was smelling. He walked over and sat down beside her, picking up the bowl and beginning to eat. "You were hungry." She pointed out. "Well, yeah. I didn't exactly spend the night over here to raid your fridge." Shayne said. The meal within the bowl was eggs (scrambled), near fried maple and sage breakfast sausage, fried potatoes and cheese. The spices included crushed peppercorns, garlic powder and freeze dried garlic, a yellow onion (diced) and just a small pinch of salt for taste. Shayne almost felt guilty about eating it all.

"There's more in the pan if you want it." Jade offered, as if she was reading his thoughts. "I don't wanna take your food." He said, wiping his mouth. "Shayne...you really think I'm going to eat that?" She asked, cocking a brow. "You need to eat." He said, pushing the bowl away. "Suit yourself." She said, grabbing the empty bowls and heading into the kitchen. As she walked away, Shayne couldn't resist gazing at the pink silk sleep shorts that seemed to ride higher up her backside. It exposed the underside curvature of her cheeks. Shayne ripped his eyes away, squeezing them shut and trying to imagine more horrid things in their place. "Are you going to the game tonight?" Jade asked.

Shayne looked over the couch at her. She was placing the leftovers in the fridge. "You're not going to eat that?" Shayne asked. "I'll keep it for later or for Javi if I see him tonight." She said. She turned to face him. The sudden rush of cold air from the fridge had caused her nipples to harden. The silk clung to them; Shayne's eyes fell to them. "Shayne." Jade toughened, snapping her fingers. "Huh?" "You didn't answer my question." Shayne shifted in his seat, clearing his throat and discreetly attempting to shove his growing erection down. "What was the question?" Shayne could feel the beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "Are you going to the game tonight? It's the first football game of the season." "Against who?" "The SC Bulldogs, I think." She said, folding her arms over her chest. Thank fuck. "Yeah, I might be there...if I can convince Gill to go. I don't know if she's into sports." He said. Jade chuckled. "I think she'd do anything to make you happy, Shayne." There was a slight pause. Jade walked over to the couch.

"Speaking of...things have been kinda tense with this whole musical thing. What's going on with that?" "Nothing! I just—I have issues with Matt." Shayne said. Jade wrinkled her brow. "Why? Is it the juvie thing?" "No! He just...he has this thing about girls and they seem to flock to him. I feel like it's a bit sick and unfair." A sly smirk crept across Jade's lips. "Are you jealous, Shayne?" She asked. "What? No! I'm just—" His eyes darted around. "Okay fine. I'm jealous." He finally admitted. "Don't be. Gill's loyal to you. She wouldn't do anything to hurt you." Jade assured. "I just worry I'm not enough, y'know?" He said. "Shayne, you are enough for her. You two are just learning about each other. Don't scare her off." "We've just been...at odds over that. But I feel like some of the...conversations we've been having have been helping."
