The sun was rising lazily in the east as dew was rolling off the grass blades of Jade's freshly mowed lawn. We had gotten an early start, and by early, I mean it was about 7:30. Last night was definitely a fiasco and I was surprised I had managed even 5 hours of sleep. Yet, here I was, carrying in groceries from the car. Jade was helping me. Caylie would be by later to give me a little reprieve and to let me go home and shower. I didn't get to bed until 2:30 last night. It was mainly Shayne's fault.

After the musical performances, we all went out to get ice cream. Well, everyone except Jade. She hung around to spend time with Billy. Anyway, Shayne and I sat in a booth alone after Caylie and Damien called it quits early. Normally, I'm not one to give up a fight, or lower my standards for anyone, but it was killing me that Shayne was being so stubborn about this. So, we talked. We talked about what had happened that night. The conversation ended in both of us apologizing for being in the wrong. "Gill, I don't want you to think that I would ever do anything bad like that. My—umm...hormones just got a little...out of control." He told me. I told him I understood and that I was sorry for not telling him where I limited things.

"I just...I just want my first time to be something that's unique. Not...not so rushed and dirty. There's plenty of time for that." I said, taking his hand. I think it's safe to say we ended on a positive note and that our relationship is still standing after that blow.

I placed the final grocery bag on the counter. "Is Billy going to be at this party?" I asked. I wanted the topic to seem nonchalant, but it was almost impossible to not be nosy. I know Jade said she'd tell me everything, but...I was just worried she'd hide something. "God no. Last night was kind of the end for us. I'm really hoping he doesn't show up." Jade said, pulling the cans out of the bag. "Why? What happened?" Jade just shook her head. "Billy is looking for someone to date, and while he's great in bed...he's not my type. I just don't...I don't like how clingy he is." "I get that. I hate clingy guys. Being loving is great, but not suffocating." I said. "Right. I'm also...kinda hoping that..." Her eyes looked down and she just shrugged her shoulders. "That someone else will come into the picture."

It was quite clear that feelings Javier and Jade had for each other were not fading. That once clean slate, marked with their love and endearment had now become a greasy black smudge. It would take a miracle to get it off. "Why don't you just talk to him?" I asked. "Talk to who?" She questioned. "Oh, come on, Jade. Playing stupid isn't exactly your forte." "Javier doesn't want to speak to me. He's made that very clear." "Oh really?" I asked. "Yes, really. Now, I'd appreciate it if you'd butt out." She quipped. My brows shot up. "Look, I'm sorry...it's a sensitive topic and it's really...painful that he doesn't want to speak to me." She said. I just nodded my head. Enough questions for today.

At the same time, Javier was laying in bed. Beside him was Ms. Laurens. Javi didn't feel good about sleeping with her and not just because she was a co-worker. She was bland, boring and lazy in bed. He could've gotten more attention with his hand. He laid there, looking up at the ceiling. The fan moved quietly up above. He wondered what Jade was doing. He looked over at the suit that was hanging on the back of the bedroom door.

"I just have this fantastic idea." Jade said, straddling his hips. Her fingers slid across his chest, a feeling Javier absolutely adored. "Tell me your idea." He said. "I was thinking that for Halloween, we could be Gomez and Morticia." A smile spread wide across Javi's lips. His hands rubbed against the smooth skin of her thighs. "I like that idea." He said, smoothly. She leaned down, placing kisses at the edge of his collarbone. "I figured you would..." She said.

Javier groaned audibly. His mind was haunted by the thought of Billy Almos holding her down and driving himself into her. Or her letting Billy's fingers pull gentle cries and whimpers from her lips. Or...— Javier stopped his thoughts by sitting up and running his hands over his face. He needed a shower and to forget last night's events. It was a mistake.
