At school the following day, Tommy was a little elusive. I figured he was late and had gotten in trouble with his Uncle again. As I was shuffling through the books in my locker, I saw him walking down the opposing hallway. My eyes followed him before he disappeared behind the wall. Suddenly, my locker door slammed shut. Long, pink glitter stiletto fingernails pressed against the maroon color. "Where the hell were you yesterday?" Jade asked. She had a completely different hair style with pink steaking the dark brown color. "Earth to Gill!" She said, snapping her fingers in my face. "Oh...Oh! I was umm...I just took the day off to y'know...reset?" "Did the reset have the initials T.B. on them by any chance?" Jade asked. I sighed, grinning like a jackass. "It's kinda hard to hide when all of us are friends, Gill." She said.
"Alright, you've twisted my arm enough. Yesterday was nothing short of amazing." I said. "Tell me all about it." She said, grabbing me by the arm and leading me down the hallway. We were sitting outside in the courtyard, skipping class. Honestly, part of me didn't even really care about that. My head was so full of Tommy that I really thought I was going to burst. "Skipping class, huh?" Caylie said, walking up and taking off her backpack. "Says the bitch who just showed up to class later than any of the rest of us!" Jade joked. "Like you're never late." She said rolling her eyes. "Anyway, what are we talking about this time?" Caylie asked, flopping down beside me. "Gill was just about to tell me about her exhilarating date with Tommy Brisco." Jade said, leaning forward on her elbows.
At the same time, Tommy was sitting on the football bleachers. Damien came up from running laps; he was out of breath. "How come...you're not out there?" Damien asked. "I can't mess up this complexion." Tommy said. His hair was tied up in a bun, with some of the shorter strands hanging down. "Scoot over." Damien said, sitting down beside him. "So..." He started, finally catching his breath. "where were you and Gill yesterday?" Damien asked. Tommy felt his cheeks erupt with color. Should he say? Did Gill already tell everyone? Of course, she'd tell Jade because they're like best friends. But Jade wouldn't say anything, would she? While Tommy was busy trying to find the right answer, Donnie jogged up. "What are you guys doing, we're supposed to be running laps. Coach is gonna get pissed at us again." Donnie said. He reached up, sliding his fingers through his sweat laden hair. "Tommy was just about to spill the beans on Gill." "Oh really, man? Did you finally make that move?" Tommy opened his mouth to speak when Donnie stopped him. "Wait, have you guys even had sex yet?" He asked. Tommy rolled his lips together "Uhh...yeah, I mean we've—yeah, we've had sex before..." He hesitated. Donnie just glanced up at Damien.
"You really wanna know?" I asked.
"Alright, I'll tell you..." Tommy started.
T: Summer lovin', had me a blast
G: Summer lovin', happened so fast
T: I know a girl, crazy for me
G: He's my kinda boy, cute as can be
T & G: Summer days driftin' away
To ah-oh, the summer nights
Tommy stood up from where he was sitting and moved along the bleachers with Damien and Donnie following him.
D & D: Oh well-a, oh well-a, oh well-a, uh
Tell me more, tell me more did ya get really far?
Jade and Caylie leaned in closer as I started to elaborate a little more, singing along to the music.
C & J: Tell me more, tell me more, like does he have a nice car, uh-huh?
