Once In A While

Chapter 8: Warriors

The following day, the main Survey Corps body, lead by our Commander, rode to Trost, while section commander Hange, along with her squad, Captain Levi, Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Pastor Nick and some other recruits rode to another district.

There were news that wall Rose had been breached; squads from the Garrison Regiment were sent out to locate the hole, from which the Titans got access to the interior.

​​​​​​ Though, as we were gathered around Commander Erwin and Commander Pixis, a cadet from Garrison, along with Sasha, who was gulping down water as if there was no tomorrow, informed us that there was no breach at all; and that, out of the 104th graduates who were at Utgard castle, three of them held the power of shifting into a Titan.

Jean was beyond furious when he heard that, and demanded that the identities of the shifters were revealed immediately; the commander put a firm hand on his shoulder, as a subtle reminder that he should compose himself. I remained silent, standing next to his side. What could this possibly mean? Titans appear out of seemingly nowhere, and three of our comrades have hidden their true identities for years...

After being informed that Eren and Ymir were abducted from the Colossal and Armored Titans, the Commander ordered all troops to gear up and thus, we began riding to wall Maria, in order to locate Eren's whereabouts and retrieve him safely.

I rode alongside Armin, Mikasa, Jean and Hannes. Mikasa was galloping faster than all of us, clearly determined to free Eren from his abductors; her attachment to him playing a detrimental role to her goal.

Hannes, a Garrison soldier, whom the Shiganshina trio knew from when they were younger, tried to calm her down; stating that Eren was too stubborn to die without fighting back, so there was no reason for her to exhaust herself so early on.

"No wait! This is Ymir! This is her titan form! She's one of the people they took! What the hell happened? Is Eren ok? What about Bertolt and Reiner?" Connie explained frantically, in attempt to get Ymir talking. We had no time to waste.

"So this is Ymir..." Armin said to himself.

"What direction did they go?" Jean asked her impatiently.

"Give us a clue, anything you've got!" Sasha pleaded.

"Is she keeping an eye out for Reiner? Why is she looking at us like that..." Armin questioned.

"Thank goodness you're alright! I was worried about you!" Historia exclaimed once she reached the rest of us.

The moment Ymir noticed Historia's arrival, she jumped forwards and took her captive in her mouth, then making a run for it. We were all left shocked, staring at her retreating form.

"Don't just stand there's move your asses!" Jean yelled at us, trying to get us to snap out of the trance.

"Am I seriously the only one who saw this coming people? Hurry up she's fast we're losing her!" He reprimanded us once we all resumed moving through the forest.

"We were lured into a trap! It's clear now whose side she's on!" Armin explained.

Once we reached the final trees, we saw Reiner's titan form sprinting away, with Ymir on his shoulder, as well as Eren, Historia and Bertolt.

"They're getting away with Eren!" Screamed Armin.

"Move it! This isn't over, you hear me? I'll get him back!" Suddenly Hannes appeared behind us, marching forward, in hopes of getting Eren back before it was too late.
