Hello,

I would like to thank you for giving my story a chance, I hope you enjoyed it, through the beautiful, but also sad moments it contained. This was actually first published over seven months ago, and was finished during May 2021. I decided to repost it on Wattpad too, so, here we are!

To be honest with you, I decided to write this on a whim; I've been a fan of attack on titan for years now, and because of it ending this year, I decided to write this as an ode, a farewell to one of my favourite characters- Jean, as well as the rest of the cast.

The ending didn't follow the manga's storyline, because from the first day I started writing the prologue, I wanted this story to end with Jean dying. To me, it would be more impactful for him and his partner to be within reach of their goals, but not being able to complete them in the end; having to deal with countless loses of loved ones, only to lose the one person that had been a constant in your life during your formative years.

The Scouts, as well as the reader, aren't innocent; they've killed and committed crimes. That doesn't make them bad people, more like good people who were forced to commit war crimes and atrocities. Because the cycle of hatred and society led to all of this, the endless division and war.

The epilogue is pretty much a farewell letter to Jean. I've left the ending ambiguous, so you can decide what happens with the protagonist. How her life came to be afterwards, when it ended and how it ended.

So, with that being said, I would love to hear any feedback or anything you have to say about this story! I am sorry for any spelling or grammatical errors you may have encountered- English is not my first language so some mistakes are bound to be made.

Once again, thank you for reading!<3
