Chris immediately put a hand on Wyatt's thigh when he got into the SUV. In the short time he'd known him, it had became abundantly clear to Wyatt that Chris's primary language of affection was physical touch. He rubbed his hand up and down Wyatt's thigh in slow, rhythmic movements.
"I am so tired," Allie sighed as she stretched and leaned back in the passenger seat.
Elizabeth was driving and Darren was passed out sitting in the second row. Feeling sleepy himself, Wyatt rested his head against Chris's chest and shut his eyes. The last thing he remembered before falling asleep was Chris leaning down and kissing his head.
While Wyatt was asleep, Chris sat in silence, his thoughts racing despite his stillness. Wyatt hadn't seemed bothered by the amount of fanfare, and the notion of maintaining some distance hadn't seemed to bother him either. Of course, he knew time would tell.
Be in the moment, he reminded himself.
He pulled his phone from his pocket and, after checking some messages and returning a few, he searched for Wyatt on social media again. He found him on Instagram again and stared at his private profile. He bit his lip as he looked at Wyatt's profile picture- an image of him rock climbing in just a pair of shorts- before requesting to follow him. Then he moved on to doing an internet search. He quickly found the same information he'd read already. He read about Wyatt's background, his degree in theater, and the plays he'd been in. He read reviews of his performances in local articles and smiled at all of the glowing praise.
Just looking at him made Chris feel giddy. Why haven't I done this sooner? he asked himself as he laid his phone down and resumed his gentle hold on Wyatt's bare thigh. Wyatt let out a sleepy whimper and he couldn't restrain his smile even if he tried. It had only been a few days, but he was really taken with this guy. Though he knew there was a lot of ground to cover, and many conversations to be had, he felt the excitement and rush of pleasure in the newness of this. The promise it could hold. He let himself think about that, surrendering to the joy rather than worrying about the what if's.
When they had returned to the houses, Wyatt stirred awake and grinned sleepily. "Did I sleep the entire way?"
"You were out like a light as soon as you buckled in," Chris confirmed.
As the group converged in the driveway, the subject of dinner came up.
"There's a Mexican restaurant not far from here that has pretty good reviews," Robert said. "AND they have vegan options!" He said as he looked over at Elizabeth.
"I think Wyatt and I are going to get some dinner alone," Chris said as he took Wyatt's hand and gave it a squeeze.
"Oh, sure, ditch us then!" Jeremy teased.
"Hey, they've been around us all day long," Mark defended them. "Let them go and have some time alone."
"Yeah, yeah. Have a good time, guys," Jeremy called after them as they walked away from the group and up the stairs to the front door.
"I'm going to run next door and get ready," Chris said. "Don't fuss over your clothes. Casual is fine," he said before kissing Wyatt's forehead and bounding down the stairs.
Wyatt watched him jog across the sand to the other house and let out a long sigh. Chris Hemsworth was taking him on a date. Yes, he was trying very hard to look at the man as just another man. But, at the end of the day, he was Chris Hemsworth. And he was taking him, Wyatt Hudson, on a date. He smiled brightly and let himself bask in that.
Despite his earlier fatigue, Wyatt was suddenly wide awake. As he climbed the steps and went into his room, he selected an outfit- a light blue short sleeve shirt and some white shorts- and hopped into the shower. As he washed up, his thoughts were pulling in many different directions. Where were they eating? How was he going to act like he wasn't on a date even though he was on a date? That question stumped him. He didn't want to jeopardize Chris's situation at all. He began to worry he'd mess things up with an accidental touch or even a lingering stare.
While he was getting ready he reached for his phone to put some music on. In addition to some texts from the group, he noticed that he had an Instagram notification.
Chris Hemsworth has requested to follow you.
Wyatt smiled, accepted the request, and tried not to focus on how insane it all was. When he left the house, everyone else was long gone. He sat on the front step and watched for Chris to appear.
He didn't have to wait long. No sooner had he sat down did Chris come walking along the house and up the steps. He was dressed in black shorts and a grey t shirt with a surfboard brand name- Emery- across the chest. The scent of his cologne floated up to Wyatt.
"So, I couldn't help but notice this photo in particular," Chris said as he held up his phone, showing Wyatt a picture Allie had taken of him while they were on a vacation in Maui. Wyatt was wearing a red speedo and the natural lighting reflected off of the beads of water on his exposed skin. He had a huge smile on his face, but was unaware that a picture was being taken. A moment of pure, unfiltered bliss had been captured.
"Yeah, Allie insisted I wear that," Wyatt explained.
Chris nodded and looked at the picture one more time. "I think I would have to insist that as well. You know, had you worn that speedo around me at the start of things I probably would have lost my mind on day one." He wrapped his arms around Wyatt, lacing his fingers at the small of his back as he leaned down and rested his forehead against his. "You're hot."
"Well, right now I'm hungry," Wyatt said. "Where are you taking me?"
"There's a seafood restaurant not far from here."
"Hilly's?"
Chris grinned. "Yeah. Should have known you'd know."
"Going to Hilly's is probably one of the rare occasions where I'll actually eat meat," Wyatt explained.
Chris raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I think it won't be rare for you to eat meat from now on."
"Are you making sexual passes at me, Mr. Hemsworth?"
Chris feigned being shocked. "I would never," he said.
Wyatt stood up on his toes. "Really? That's too bad," he whispered before boldly kissing him.
"What I meant to say," Chris said before kissing Wyatt again. "Is that I would never pass up the chance to make sexual passes at you."
"Nice save."
Chris's hands drifted down to Wyatt bottom and gave both cheeks a firm squeeze. "I'm good like that."
"I hope you are," Wyatt whispered as he rubbed his hands across Chris's broad chest.
"I've not had any complaints. Though they've all been women. So who knows? I might be shit at having sex with a man."
Wyatt shook his head. "I get the feeling that's not going to be the case." His hands moved down Chris chest, slowly sliding down his abs, hovering just above his waistline. He lingered there for just a moment before letting his fingers drift down to his pelvis.
Chris's eyes glazed over with desire and he continued to hold onto Wyatt's ass. Finally he cracked a smile. "You said you were hungry, remember?"
"Yeah," Wyatt spoke reluctantly.
"Or did you mean to say you were horny?"
"That may have been it. I'm not sure. I get my words confused when I'm horny."
Chris slowly withdrew his hands and reached for Wyatt's, gently pulling them away from his hips and up to his mouth. He kissed his knuckles and smiled. "Let me at least take you to dinner before I fuck you."
Wyatt laughed. "That's so nice of you."
"I'm a gentleman like that."
