"How do you feel?" Wyatt asked as Chris slipped between the sheets, his warm body finding Wyatt's immediately.

"I feel good," Chris sighed. "It was nice to say it out loud to family."

Wyatt lay in silence after Chris pulled him close. His life had taken a totally different path in such a short and unexpected time. Last week he'd been trapped in an endless loop, and this week he was on the adventure of a lifetime. It was catching up with him, all of the changes, and he found himself feeling a little on edge.

"Are you good?" Chris asked, noting the silence.

"I think so."

Chris rolled to his side so he could face him and began to rub a hand up and down his arm. "Tell me what you're thinking about."

"How none of this feels real," Wyatt said. "I mean, I know it's real. It's just...a lot has happened this week. And it's all been wonderful. I can't remember the last time I felt like this."

"Felt like what?"

Wyatt felt a shyness around Chris, the product of a blossoming relationship where both parties were still learning about each other and finding a rhythm. He was grateful for the darkness of the room. "Excited about someone. That...rush of butterflies I get when I look at you and you catch me looking. It feels good to be wanted by someone who isn't hiding anything."

"You deserve all of those things," Chris said. "You deserve to be with a man who can give them to you. And I plan on being that man."

"I...uh...I hope I can give you those things, too."

"I don't think that'll be a problem for you. haven't stopped smiling since we met. Now, come here, you little spoon."

Reassured, Wyatt eased down. He rolled to his side and moved a little closer to the curve of Chris's body, fitting his back up against his chest and enjoying the feeling of being held by the bigger man. In the dark quiet of the bedroom, he felt peaceful and secure.

"Liam likes you a lot," Chris said as he rested his chin against Wyatt's shoulder.

"What do you think the others will think?"

"I think you and I have very little to worry about, to be honest. What about your family?"

"Well, my dad is easygoing. Nothing phases him. Mom is the one you'd have to worry about."

"Oh yeah?"

"She's just protective. I'm the youngest and she's always just sort of worried about me. Especially after Brian."

"Think I can win her over?"

Wyatt laughed. "I think you stand a good chance."

"But?"

"Well...I think she'll be concerned because you're famous. She'll be afraid that you won't be able to be a stable boyfriend. She already has enough worry about me being an actor."

Chris took what Wyatt said in stride. "I understand that. But I plan on being as stable for you as I can. I know the lifestyle will make things...interesting."

"My brothers will be the hardest though," Wyatt warned. "They'll try to give you a hard time."

"I think I can handle that," Chris said confidently. "As long as no one stabs my ass or tries to set me on fire."

Wyatt laughed. "No, nothing like that. They'll just subject you to an initiation."

"What sort of initiation?" Chris asked.

"A game of baseball," Wyatt replied. "My family loves to play. We usually do it when we all get together."

"I take it they'd go rough on me, would they?"

"Very," Wyatt said. "But I think you'll be up to the challenge when the time comes."

"What makes you so sure of that?" Chris tightened his arms around Wyatt, hugging him affectionately.

"Well, you're very physically fit," Wyatt answered.

Chris flexed his arms around Wyatt. "You think so?" he asked.

"I think maybe you should show me how physically fit you are," Wyatt spoke in an innocent voice as he subtly moved his lower body back against Chris.

"Why the hell did we lay down with clothes on?" Chris suddenly asked with a chuckle. He slid his hands into Wyatt's shorts and began to tug them down.

"I'm not sure," Wyatt said. He moved to give Chris better access to remove his shorts and shirt, then turned around and reached for Chris's clothes.

As their bodies mingled beneath the single sheet, the fact that the week would be over soon was a very distant notion. Worry seemed to dissolve, unable to stand up to the passion that built up between them. Every kiss dispelled Wyatt's fears that his career would never take off. Every whispered word erased Chris's concerns about his future. Every touch banished any worry about how they would proceed in this relationship they were building. Beneath a blanket of affection and lust, there wasn't any need for those negative thoughts. They were deflected as if a protective bubble were encasing the two of them.

Though he knew how his mind worked and was well aware that he'd probably begin to second guess everything the minute he returned to New York, it felt good to feel safe and adored. He decided to hold onto it as tight as he could and soak up every second of this magic that was happening to him. No one could say what the future held. No one had that kind of power. Wyatt knew he was prone to worry and that these words would probably lose a little of their power. But he would try his best to not allow that to happen.

One day at a time.

No what ifs.

Just every moment as it came.
