As everyone entered the amusement park, Wyatt gave himself a quick reminder that he would need to maintain a little distance from Chris. There would be hundreds of eyes on him, with countless people observing his every move. If he gave anything away, it would be on TMZ in under a minute, he was sure.
"I'll stay away while we're there," Wyatt promised him before even leaving the car.
Chris frowned. "You don't have to stay away from me, Wyatt. We just won't be able to hold hands like I'd like to."
Before Wyatt could respond, Chris leaned in and gave his lips a slow kiss. "There," he whispered as he slowly moved back. "That should tide me over until later, at least."
Wyatt walked alongside Chris, his mind focused on appearing as friend-like as possible. Each time he looked over at him and caught sight of his golden beauty and piercing eyes, he could feel himself melting into a puddle on the inside.
If you're going to date him you'll have to get used to this sort of thing for an unspecified amount of time, he reminded himself as he stood in line for the largest roller coaster in the park. Chris was standing behind him and Elizabeth and Darren were standing in front of him.
"You sure you don't want to ride this one?" Darren shouted to Allie as she sat on a bench in the shade and fanned herself.
"Not unless you want to clean up some puke," she answered. "Besides, Mark's keeping me company," she said.
The roller coaster ride was an intense one that saw them moving into upside-down circles, their legs dangling freely. The exhilaration of it was made even more fun when Wyatt looked to see Chris screaming excitedly next to him.
After the ride, the group went to look at the picture that had been taken while they were upside down. Laughing hysterically, Robert paid for all of the pictures and divided them up. "There," he said to Chris when he handed him the picture that was focused upon him and Wyatt. "Your first picture together."
"Actually, it's our second picture together," Chris laughed before looking down at the photo, taking notice of how crazed they both looked. "We look ridiculous," he laughed as he showed Wyatt.
"Well, we kind of are," Wyatt said as he looked down at the picture.
Allie found them and suggested they go and play some laser tag next, which promptly ignited the competitive streaks in everyone.
"Us against the Avengers," Elizabeth announced.
"You really want to lose, don't you?" Evans asked with a big smirk.
"Oh, I don't think that's going to be the outcome," Wyatt challenged. "We used to play paintball on my parents' land all the time."
Chris smiled at Wyatt's sudden competitiveness as the group paid their way in and were given the equipment before being sent out into the large area filled with hiding places and places to take cover. Multicolored shapes and designs abounded, creating a look reminiscent of Tron. Wyatt and his teammates quickly slipped into the shadowy play area, their laser guns ready.
The game began with an explosive burst of combat. Despite the competitiveness, laughter rang out endlessly. Wyatt and his team were holding their own despite the other side having an extra person. At one point he left cover and fired at Jeremy, tagging him out before rolling into a dark corner. It was at this point he was starting to wonder where Chris was, as he'd not seen him for a few minutes.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around him from behind and pulled him close. "Looks like I've captured the enemy," Chris whispered, his voice barely audible over the upbeat techno that played on the speakers overhead. "Now, the question is what am I going to do with you?"
Wyatt looked over his shoulder, his heart racing as Chris held him tight against his chest. "I guess I'm at your mercy."
Chris hummed deeply as he rested his chin on his shoulder. "Looks like it's Stockholm Syndrome for you, mate," he whispered.
Wyatt slowly turned around in Chris's arms and looked up into his eyes. "We shouldn't be doing this here," he whispered.
"I know, but I want to," Chris sighed as he leaned in and inhaled Wyatt's scent.
"But someone could see," Wyatt whispered.
Chris shook his head. "I chose my ambush spot well," he said as he looked at the shadows around them. "Kiss me."
Wyatt licked his lips and felt his body respond to the sexiness of the situation. Still, he couldn't shake the worry that someone could bump into them. The sudden sound of being hit with a laser gun rang out and Chris abruptly looked down to find that Wyatt had secretly hit him, effectively putting him out of the game.
"Ah! You tricked me, you little seducer," Chris groaned dramatically as the game of laser tag ended.
"Who got the winning shot?" Darren shouted from nearby.
"It was Wyatt," Chris called out, taking a few steps away but letting his eyes remain locked on him. He then grinned at Wyatt. "Little trickster."
Wyatt smiled confidently. "Think of it as 'tag, you're it'," he said before turning around and strutting away.
