"What on earth do you buy for someone when they have everything?" Wyatt asked Darren as he walked through the department store.
"I'm not sure, man," Darren replied.
"I mean, he has such a larger than life, lavish lifestyle," Wyatt carried on as he perused the various colognes in the fragrance department.
"You know that's not a reflection of who he is though," Darren reminded him. "He's down to earth and laid back. He doesn't need anything over the top and I doubt that kind of stuff would impress him much."
Inspiration suddenly struck. "Darren, you're a lifesaver."
"I am?"
"Yeah, I have the perfect idea. Listen to this and tell me what you think."
"I'm all ears."
Wyatt excitedly explained his spur of the moment plans.
"I think that's easily the sweetest fucking think I've ever heard in my life."
"Think he'll like that?"
"I think he'd be crazy not to."
"Perfect. Gotta go."
"Let me know how it goes!"
Wyatt hung up and promptly left the department store and hurried off to the grocery store. Having wrapped up the movie, Wyatt had several days off, which coincided perfectly with Chris's birthday. Chris would be returning the following day- which happened to be his birthday- giving him all day and the following day until early evening to prepare everything.
He did some research on the way to the grocery store and by the time he'd arrived, he had an entire plan in mind. Having found everything he needed to pull this off, he returned to Chris's house and started to set his plans into action.
The next morning, Wyatt woke up and reached for his phone so he could FaceTime Chris.
"Happy Birthday," he greeted when Chris answered.
"Thanks, babe," Chris said as he ran a hand through his bed head.
"Did I wake you up?" Wyatt asked as he clocked the sleepiness in Chris's face.
"Not, mum and dad just called."
"How are they?" Wyatt asked. He was fairly timid when discussing this topic because he didn't want to apply any pressure by steering them into the meet-the-parents territory.
"They're good. Just wishing I was back home with them." He paused and smiled at Wyatt. "I wish I was there with you."
"Well, your bed does feel pretty big and lonely without you here."
"I meant I wish I was in Australia with you," Chris corrected himself. He then raised an eyebrow. "You wouldn't happen to be naked underneath that sheet would you?"
"Maybe."
"Give us a peak?"
Wyatt playfully shook his head.
"Come on. I'm the birthday boy. And what would a birthday be without cake?"
"Well, since it's your birthday," Wyatt sighed before pulling the sheet back to expose some of his naked skin.
"Alright. That's it. I'm on the next plane out of here right now. Just stay right there, just like that."
Wyatt laughed at Chris's exuberance. "Just like this?"
"Actually, I'd prefer you be face down, ass up."
After hanging up, Wyatt stretched out in the massive bed and permitted himself some time relaxing before he got up and began getting things ready for Chris's return. Excitement bubbled in him as he worked, knowing that what he was doing was going to be something really special.
