"Hold the phone," Darren gasped. "They have a haunted house here?"

"Really? That's awesome!" Allie said.

"We have to go there next," Wyatt said.

Chris looked across the table at him and smiled at his excitement. "You like haunted houses?"

"Oh, absolutely. I love being scared. Want to go?" Wyatt asked.

Around that time yet another wave of fans approached with their phones at the ready. Chris smiled at Wyatt before standing up and taking a group photo with a bunch of girls. While he and the others were busy signing autographs and taking pictures, Allie, Darren and Elizabeth immediately took out their phones and started texting the group.

Mack: something is up, Guppy. So spill.

Guppy: We're official.

Monkey: Congratulations!

Birdie: I'm so happy for you!

Mack: OMFG so cute.

Monkey: Guppy gonna get that Australian dong.

Guppy: OMG stahp

Mack: He's gonna eat you up like a Vegemite sandwich

Birdie: Are you gonna let him into your outback tonight?

Guppy: You guys are gross. I hate all of you. Also, yes, I think so.

"What's got you blushing?" Chris asked as he slid back into his seat after one last picture.

Wyatt locked his phone and smiled innocently. "Nothing."

Chris gave him a suspicious glare. "Uh-huh. Is that anything like 'I'm fine'?"

"Maybe," Wyatt said as he set his phone down. "Now- this haunted house. Who's in?"

Chris chuckled at Wyatt's playful evasiveness. Despite the joy of this, he couldn't help but feel some guilt creeping in on him. Any other couple would be able to treat each other with affection without fear of being found out and exposed. He felt he was already coming up short. As he looked at Wyatt's happy expression while he was retelling a story from a previous haunted house experience, he tried to shove the negativity aside and focus on the moment. He was with Wyatt, who had clearly stated he was okay with the terms their relationship would have. Good things were happening.

"Come back to us, Hemsy," Evans called out as he balled up a napkin and tossed it at him.

"Yeah, quit zoning out," Jeremy said.

Chris shrugged his broad shoulders. "I can't help it. Something keeps getting my attention," he said as he winked at Wyatt.

The haunted house was a big spooky looking building made to look like a decrepit mansion. As they approached they saw groups of people running from the exit, screaming and laughing with excitement and fear. As they moved along the line and drew nearer to the entrance, Chris stayed behind Wyatt and tried to keep his eyes off of him as countless fans passed them by, waving and snapping photos. A fantasy played out in his head of him throwing all caution to the wind and taking Wyatt's hand in his, smiling right at the cameras and saying 'yup, this is who I am'.

The fantasy drifted off as they passed the threshold into the building. Strobe lights flashed around them, illuminating blood-spattered walls and eerie corridors. As they walked, their guide fed them a frightening collection of scary stories along the way. At one point a menacing figure in a white mask stepped out from the shadows and Wyatt jumped back a little bit.

"I thought you liked being scared?" Chris asked as he moved closer and put a hand on the small of his back.

"And now we descend into the dark crypt," their guide theatrically projected. "Be sure to hold onto the shoulder of the person in front of you! I'd hate for you to be lost in the dark for all eternity!"

Chris laid both of his hands on Wyatt's shoulders as they entered total darkness. Seizing the moment, he leaned forward and kissed Wyatt's cheek. Wyatt turned his head slightly and their lips met, hot and a hungry in the dark. Wyatt almost began to protest, fearful of what could happen should the lights suddenly come back on, but Chris's tongue slid into his mouth and the thought of stopping died a fast death.

"Now you're it," Chris whispered as he moved away from him.

Wyatt sighed before walking onward and found that nothing the haunted house threw at him could compete with the mix of feelings he was experiencing with Chris. Lust, excitement, and fear at being discovered converged within his mind, preventing the last jump scares of the haunted house from even phasing him.

"So I could help but notice that your hand left my shoulder at one point for a minute or so," Elizabeth pointed out as she and Wyatt went into a gift shop to grab some water bottles.

"Oh?"

"Where did your hands go during that time?" Elizabeth asked as she wiggled her eyebrows.

Wyatt laughed. "I promise, you have no reason to worry about where my hands were. They were just on his shoulders. And chest. And arms."

Elizabeth paid for the water bottles and the two of them walked out and headed to where everyone else was situated beneath a pavilion. A flock of fans had just walked away.

"What are your thoughts on that aspect of things?" Elizabeth asked.

"I know that it's part of who he is. Maybe it'll be part of my life some day. If I can't deal with that I may as well not even try. Being with him or acting."

"I hope Wyatt isn't too bothered by all of this," Chris whispered to Evans as they sat next to each other. The fans had walked away by that point.

Evans shrugged. "I get it. But if he's going to be dating you and is aspiring to be an actor it's best if he gets a taste of how things will be now, right?"

"True."

Wyatt was walking across the way beside Elizabeth. Chris looked up, his expression shifting from thoughtful to bright. Evans noticed it immediately and decided that Chris was undeniably smitten. Like the others who worked with and knew Chris as a good friend, he wanted nothing more than for him to be happy. "I'm happy for you," Evans said aloud, prompting Chris to look at him and smile. "Really. You're starting to live your truth in your own way and it's making you happy. Happy's a good look for you."

Wyatt and Elizabeth approached the table and passed the waters around.

"What's next?" Wyatt asked as he slid into the seat across from Chris and took a big sip of water.

"I think we're all ready to call it a day," Darren said.

The decision was completely unanimous, and as Wyatt looked across the table and into Chris's eyes, he decided that no one was more ready to get back to the beach house than he and Chris were. Besides, Wyatt was now 'it' in this sexy game of tag he and Chris were playing. And he was ready to tag him back.
