"Excuse me, losers," Allie said as she walked into the den where Darren and Elizabeth were resting on the sofas.
"What's up?" Elizabeth asked, still groggy from her hangover.
Allie shook her head. "There are some things that you just have to see for yourself if you want to believe them."
Darren and Elizabeth exchanged intrigued glances before getting up and hurriedly following Allie toward the rear of the house until they were standing at the bank of windows that faced the beach.
"What am I looking at?" Elizabeth asked.
Allie pointed. "See Wyatt surfing?"
"Yeah?"
"See someone with him?"
"Yeah."
Allie sighed. "Can you really not tell who it is?"
"Well, not from this distance," Elizabeth huffed. "Plus he's got his back to us."
Allie rolled her eyes. "Wait for them to get closer."
Darren laughed. "Allie, can't you just tell us what we're supposed to be seeing?"
Allie turned to her clueless friends and waved her arms. "It's Chris fucking Hemsworth!"
Elizabeth and Darren immediately pressed their faces against the windows.
"Oh my gosh, that is him!" Elizabeth hissed. "This is crazy! How is he here? Why is he here?"
"Who cares how or why?" Darren asked. "He's surfing with Guppy."
"He's got to be losing his mind right now," Elizabeth chuckled.
I am losing my mind right now.
Wyatt sat on his surfboard and watched as Chris caught a wave. His powerful body looked amazing standing on the board. Of course Wyatt felt he looked amazing regardless. Ocean water crashed around him, soaking his suit to his body. Wyatt was in awe but was trying his hardest not to show it.
He probably gets gawked at enough without one more person doing it. He's being polite. Don't look at him like he's a piece of meat. He's just an ordinary guy. Treat him like he's just an ordinary guy.
Wyatt watched as Chris ma powerful body moved among the splash of water and took notice of the way the sunlight made every glistening muscle stand out.
He is not just an ordinary guy. What is my life?
Chris looked over at Wyatt as he rode the crest of the wave. He spied him checking him out, the look in his eyes unmistakable. He could probably have him if he wanted, he knew. Nerves jangled within him, preventing him from doing what he really wanted to do: paddle over to Wyatt and taste his lips. Seeing the way Wyatt moved through the water, Chris felt his body responding and was grateful for the cover of the board as he lay on he stomach. Wyatt sliced through the wave, his face etched with confident pleasure.
"Good one, mate," Chris complimented him.
Chris's words and delivery gave Wyatt a full-body tingle. His wildest dreams couldn't compare to the reality of hearing Chris's deep voice say that to him while his piercing blue eyes were burning through him.
"I can tell you've been surfing for a long time. You look comfortable on the board. And in the water," Chris commented as they made for the shore and walked up onto the sand.
"I think I learned to swim before I learned how to walk. My dad taught my brothers and I when we were little," Wyatt said.
"That's what you were saying," Chris said. "How many brothers?"
