Chapter Eight
Mac's POV
As I got dressed, I made sure to grab Derek's jacket. Even if he did want it back, he wasn't getting it. It was warm as hell, and I looked like a badass. I looked at the clock, I have about five minutes till I have to leave the house.
I walked outside and then It was realized that I had no car. Meaning, I also have no way to school. I forgot about the car breaking down yesterday. My grandma already left for work. I glanced at the house down the street. Even Stiles was gone. I sighed and turned to walk back in the house, when a very familiar looking Camaro came around the corner.
"Hey Mac, need a ride?" Derek asked me. I smiled at him and hopped in the passenger side. He has on another leather jacket.
"What are you doing here, Der?" I asked him when we pulled off. He glanced at me.
"I knew you were gonna need a ride, so I did the gentleman thing of picking you up." He explained.
"Well thank you kind sir." I said in a failed British accent. We both laughed at it. "You know, I've always wanted a chauffeur."
"Don't make me make you get out." He responded, glaring at me playfully. I just gave him a cheeky smile. We sat in silence for a little while. Before Derek spoke again, "Steer clear of Erica. Don't think I haven't noticed the glares you two share. She's a new werewolf and dangerous."
"Tell your pup to leave me alone. Not the other way around. She keeps messing with me, I'll stab the bitch in her throat." I told him, making him chuckle. He knows I'll do it.
"You're one of the most angry people I know." Derek said with a little smirk.
"Well I have a good reason." I said looking out the window, not liking the direction of this conversation.
"Yeah, but we worked on it." He said to me. I glared at the trees we passed.
"Well I guess I unlearned it. The situation with my mom got worse, and so did my anger." I responded dully.
"Whatever happened to her?" Derek asked. I stiffed harshly.
"I don't want to talk about her." I told him. He sighed but I knew he was letting it go. "Whatever happened to your sister?"
"My psychotic uncle killed her to become Alpha and then I killed him." He responded just as stiffly as I felt. We changed the atmosphere in here from playful to serious.
When pulled up to the school, there was still people outside. That meant I wasn't late. I turned to Derek and kissed him on the cheek."Thanks Der." I climbed out of the car. He was smirking when I turned back to look at him. I followed his gaze to where he was looking. Scott stood there looking angry as hell.
"Will you stop messing with him? I really don't want him coming up to me and trying to talk to me today." I asked Derek. He just shot me a mischievous smile.
"I'll pick you up after school." He said and pulled off. I shook my head at him and turned to walk toward the school. I could tell people were glancing at me. I just ignored it.
I walked straight to my locker and got the things I needed, while putting my extra stuff away. I felt a presence behind me. I turned to see Scott standing there.
"What?" I asked annoyed.
"Why the hell are you hanging around Derek Hale?" He asked angrily, glaring at me. I turned to him with my arms crossed, glaring back.
"That's none of your damn business." I replied in the same time he was using with me.
"Yes it is. You are my-" Scott started, but I cut him off.
"Your what, Scott? As far as I'm concerned, I have no relation to you. I'm not your sister, cousin, friend, nothing. I am just another student that has to be tortured by the very thing known as High School." I told him, closing my locker and walking away. I was pissed.
Who was he to question what I do? He has no right! I wish I wasn't related to him. I wish I didn't have a dick for a father. I wish I didn't have a psycho for a mother. I wish I wasn't made in an accidental one night stand. Scotty boy here who was made out of love, think he has the right to question me? So what I do with my life is none of his business.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by running into someone. When I looked up, it happened to be the principal. He steadied me so I wouldn't fall.
"Ah, Miss McCall. How are you today?" He asked, with a creepy smile.
"I'm fine, Mister Principal Man." I replied. I still didn't know his name.
"My name is Gerard Argent, but since I'm so fond of your brother, you can call my Gerard." He said. I nodded my head. The anger I had at Scott swelling back up.
"Um, excuse me, Gerard. I'm going to head toward class now." I said as polite as I could.
"Alright child." He said, letting me walk past him. When I was almost completely past him, he grabbed my arm. His grip was tight, might I add. "Where did you get such a leather jacket?"
"A friend." I said, snatching away. He smiled and walked away. I looked at him in confusion. What the absolute hell? I started walking to class again. I walked passed Allison Argent on my way to class. Argent? Like Gerard Argent? Were they related? Is he a hunter too?
