Chapter Twelve

Mac's POV

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was that I was in the hospital. The second thing I noticed was Melissa McCall was standing over me, looking at a chart. I felt my heartbeat instantly double.

"Shh." She said, and motioned to the corner of the room where there were two sleeping teenage boys. Scott and Stiles were sleeping in the uncomfortable hospital chairs. I sat up and felt slight pain in my shoulder.

"How the hell did I get here?" I whispered to myself.

"Be careful," Melissa said, "You are on a couple pain meds. Those two brought you in. They said you fell down some stairs at school." I just nodded in response. That's a good lie.

"Why are you in here?" I asked her, confused. I was the bastard child of her ex-husband. She should hate me. She should be trying to slip some lethal poison in my IV.

"What do you mean?" She asked me, just as confused.

"You hate me. I mean you have a reason to. I'm a flaw." I said to her, looking at my hands. She grabbed my hands and I looked up at her.

"I don't hate you. You didn't ask to be born. I hate your father and maybe your mother. I don't hate you." She told me. I looked away, my eye watering.

"I don't see why. Everyone always hates me. I'm not worthy of love. That's at least what my mom used to say." I told her. She came and sat on my bed and wiped away a falling tear.

"Don't believe that, okay?" Melissa said, "Everyone deserves a little love." She pulled me into a hug. I hugged her back. She had the motherly personality that I've never experienced. I wish I would have had her as a mother instead of my own.

"I'll come back and check on you later. Your grandmother should be here to discharge you soon." She said giving me a smile and exiting the room. When she left out, I looked over to see Scott staring at me. I instantly turned my face away from him and wiped away the remaining tears.

"You okay, Mac?" He asked me. I just nodded still not looking at him. "I don't hate you either. I hate my dad for cheating on my mom, but I don't hate you. Maybe we can get to know each other better. We can be like brother and sister." He said. I turned and looked at him surprised. I thought they hated me all my life. I gave him a one armed hug and he returned it. I have just been letting my walls down recently.

Scott asked me to tag along when he followed Jackson. I agreed and we watched our possessed acquaintance walk into a warehouse. We walked up the stairs to see people waiting in a line.

"What the hell are they doing?" I whispered to him.

"Waiting in line for tickets to a rave." Scott whispered back. I groaned lowly as he dragged me to the back of the line. Somehow got close to the front of the line. Of course Matt was there too.

"Matt. Matt." Scott whispered, grabbing his attention. Of course Scott makes the person I really want to leave me alone notice me.

"What?" He whispered back to him.

"How much are tickets?" Scott asked.

"75." Matt responded and I choked on my spit. $75 for a rave. This must be one hell of a party. I looked at Scott. I don't have $75 on me.

"Can I borrow some money? " Scott whispered back up to him. Good idea Scott.

Matt turned around and looked at him,"Yeah, how much?"

"75." Scott said and Matt looked at him like he was crazy. So did I. Bad idea Scott. I slapped him on the back of his head. My brother is an idiot. He pulled me to the back of the line and started watching Jackson. It was really weird. Obviously it wasn't the real Jackson, because he was all stiff and evil-like. I guess the ticket seller knew that because after he bought her ticket, she closed up shop.

"Let's go." Scott said, I followed him to his car.

"Where are we going now?" I asked climbing in the passenger seat.

"Vet's Office." He replied and pulled off.

~~~~~~~~~~
I was sitting in a chair talking to Dr. Deaton when I heard voices coming from the entrance. I stood up and walked toward it.
"I don't trust him." I heard Scott say. I looked to see Derek and Isaac walking in the building.
"Yeah, well, he doesn't trust you either." Isaac replied. I just rolled my eyes at the two boys.
"You know what? And Derek really doesn't care." Derek said to the teen wolves. I smirked at his blatant disregard of their dislike for each other. "Now where's the vet? Is he going to help us or not?"
"Straight to business as usual Der." I said leaning against the wall. He gave me a smirk, then hardened his face. I seen Isaac looking at us though.
"That depends. Your friend, Jackson. Are we planning to kill him or save him?" Deaton said leaning against the door frame. Derek and Scott answered at the same time. I wasn't surprised by the answers. Derek wanted to kill him and Scott wanted to save him. Of course, Scott won the argument. We all went in the back room and the boys talked strategy. I sat on the counter by a window. It was extremely hot and I was dying in this leather jacket. I took it off and set it next to me, leaving me in my tank top.
"Doc got some water?" I asked him, briefly interrupting their conversation. He pointed to a room behind me. I walked into a small kitchen area. I went to the fridge and grabbed a water. When I walked back in the room, the conversation was over they were all staring at me.
"What?" I asked them confused. Derek moved toward me and grabbed me by the waist. He turned me around and touched the huge scar on my back. I had forgotten about this, and it wasn't covered by my tanktop.
"Did she do this?" He asked me, anger in his tone. I looked down and nodded.
"I'm gonna kill her!" He growled and went to storm off. I caught a glimpse of his red eyes. I chased after him.
"Wait! Der!" I yelled and followed him into the parking lot. "Derek! Wait! You can't!" I yelled right when he was climbing in his car. He turned back toward me, his face fully transformed into a wolf-like creature.
"And why the hell not?" He yelled back at me.
"Cause she's already dead!" I yelled back. His face slowly went back human. His face was full of shock and maybe a little realization.
Dang. Mac has a lot going on. At least her relationship with Scott and Melissa is getting better! That's a good sign! Can anyone guess who this She person is? It's actually not that hard to figure out. If have been paying attention in previous chapters.
The picture is what I imagine the scar to look like but somewhere on her back.
