Chapter Twenty One
Mac's POV
"I don't wanna go." I whined into the phone.
"Mackinzy McCall, get your ass outta bed before I send Erica over there." Derek said through the phone. I heard the familiar laugh of Isaac in the background. I just grumbled curse words and hung up the phone.
I stood up and and trudged to the bathroom. It's gonna be my first day back at school since I was shot. Which was about 2 , almost 3 weeks ago, by the way. I really don't wanna go. I hate it so much.
I did my business in the bathroom and walked back to my room. I needed clothes out of my closet. As I was walking past the window, I saw a familiar blue jeep drive past my house. I sighed deeply.
I still haven't talked to Stiles. I haven't talked to Scott either. I don't even know if they know I'm alright. I'm sure they do. He's headed to the school pretty early.
I quickly got dressed and waited by the front door. Derek was coming to pick me up for school. He and Isaac are forcing me talk to the school guidance counselor. They said I have too many 'unresolved issues' with my past and myself. When he pulled up, I walked up to the passenger door.
"Lahey, in the back." I said. He looked at Derek for help, but his Alpha just stared at him. Isaac frowned and opened the door, climbing in the back. I climbed in the car and we headed toward the school.
"Ready?" Isaac asked me. I glared at him through the rear view mirror.
"This is stupid." I said to him.
"No, it's not." Derek said. "With everything that happened with your mom and Matt, you need to talk to someone." Isaac convinced me to tell him about my mom. It didn't take that much convincing. I was bound to tell Derek anyway. He knew of her abuse.
"No, I don't." I grumbled.
"Mac." Derek said in a warning tone.
"They are both dead! They can't hurt me now!" I yelled at him. He stopped the car in the school parking lot.
"Mac, please." Derek said and put his hand on mine. I looked up at him, "For me?" His green eyes were pleading. They were so beautiful, like fresh grass. I melted on the inside. My heart was pounding and I'm sure he could hear it.
"Fine." I groaned. He knew there was no way I could say no to his soft green eyes. He smile brightly at me.
"Can one of you let me out now?" Isaac said, ruling the moment. I forgot he was back there. I opened the door and climbed out, followed by Isaac. We walked toward the school, getting looks from the various teens.
"That was awkward." Isaac said with a smirk, "You wanna tell me how you and Derek aren't a thing?"
"Oh my god! Can we not have this conversation?" I asked him exasperated. He laughed loudly.
