Chapter Twenty Nine
Mac's POV
I ended up falling asleep while Derek finished whatever he was doing to help Isaac heal completely. I was awoken by Scott's screams. I rushed to where I seen Derek holding up a torch thing that is used on cars, Stiles was holding Scott down, and Scott was half transformed. Soon after I walked into the room, Scott was passed out. We all watched silently as a tattoo formed on his arm. Derek stopped the flame, and turned to look at me.
"Stiles said something happened at school today." Derek said and I sighed.
"Yeah birds got in the class and started attacking us." I said and he gave me a frustrated look.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked and I shrugged.
"You have enough on your plate as it is." I said and he went to put down the torch. He walked up to me.
"Mac-" He started but I cut him off.
"I'm fine. I didn't get hurt." I said and wrapped my arms around myself. I didn't want to think about it. I definitely didn't want to think about seeing everyone get checked on by their parents. It depressed me to think about. I didn't need anymore depressing things to think about right now.
"Mac, your eyes." Derek whispered and blocked me from Stiles' view. I'm guessing my eyes were lighting up. Meaning something would catch on fire soon if I didn't calm down. 'Deep breaths okay. Take deep breathes and relax." I did as he said and I could feel myself calming down.
"Can you guys please stop whatever gross couple stuff you are doing over there." Stiles said and I looked at him. From his face, you can tell he was very upset.
"We aren't a couple." Derek and I said together.
"Could've fooled me." Stiles mumbled to himself. I just sighed. We pulled away just as Scott sat up . He looked at his arm and smiled big.
"It worked." He said.
"I'm jealous, I want one." I said with a half smile. Scott sent me one back. He stood up and grabbed his shirt, throwing it on. He and Stiles started walking to the entrance of the house. I watched Derek's nervous face. He was afraid they would notice the painted door. They walked out the room and I punched him in the arm.
"Ow, Mac what the hell?" He whispered.
"You were supposed to tell Scott." I whispered back. He sighed and looked down.
"I know but I didn't want to put him in anymore danger. Just like I don't want you involved." Derek said and I sighed, I couldn't be mad at him for that. He went and stood in front of Isaac. I knew he felt guilty for the current condition my best friend was in.
"You painted the door." Scott called to Derek from the other room. Derek and I shared a glance. He looked back at Scott. "Why's you paint the door?"
"Go home Scott." Derek said, I moved so I could see what the two boys at the front door were doing.
"And why only one side?" Scott said, completely ignoring Derek. He flipped his wolf nails out and scratched the door. Derek looked worried and rushed toward Scott. That didn't stop my brother from clawing paint off the door. I walked up and stood between Stiles and Derek. I watched as Scott's face made the connection.
"The birds at school and the deer last night just like the night I got trampled by the deer when I got bit by the Alpha." Scott explaining his conclusion to a quiet and confused Stiles. Scott glared at Derek. "How many are there?"
Derek sighs and says, "A pack of 'em."
"An Alpha pack." I said and the boys looked at me. I could tell Scott wasn't very happy I knew about this.
"All of them? How does that even work?" Stiles asked, which is a good question. You usually think multiple alphas in one pack would work well.
"I hear there's some kind of a leader. He's called Deucalion." Derek said
"We know they have Boyd and Erica." I said, and sighed.
"Peter, Isaac, Mac and I have been looking for him for the last four months." Derek said and I glanced over to my best friend. He was still lying on the table. He probably found Boyd and Erica and there is no telling what they did to him. I noticed him moving and watched as he sat up and looked around. I moved over to him, and he looked at me concerned.
"Where's the girl?" He asked me.
"Girl?" I asked. As far as I know he wasn't with a girl. I absolutely had no clue what he was talking about. Instead of answering me, he asked the question the people standing at the door.
"Where is she? Where's the girl?" He asked and everyone looked at each other confused.
"What girl?" Derek asked.
"The one who saved me. We were both in the hospital." Isaac said and he grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes, "She's in danger."
"Scott call your mom, she if she can check on the girl that came in with Isaac." I said and Scott pulled out his phone. I turned back and looked at Isaac. "What happened?"
"I don't know. Why don't I know?" Isaac asked me, freaking out.
"Hey," I said grabbing his attention trying to calm him down, "It's okay, we will figure it out, okay?" He nodded and hugged me. I missed this doofus. I was so afraid that he was going to die. He was still slightly shaking, so I decided to distract him, "Guess what?"
"What?" He whispered.
"Merek train will be on the tracks soon enough." I said and he gave me a smile.
"Really?" He asked happily. I nodded and he put his hand up for a high five. I slapped his hand with mine. I really missed this kid, I would have died if anything happened to him.
