Chapter Forty Three

Mac's POV

Rain was pouring from the sky, but it wasn't stopping Alison and I's training. We were in the woods, about a half a mile off the path. It was where her and her father frequently came to train. Even though they were supposed to be retired, they still wanted to keep in shape. Just in case. The swung at me, but I dodged it and quickly counterattacked, knocking her off her feet. She gasped in pain as she hit the ground.

"Well you definitely have some extra force tonight." Alison said and as I helped her up.

"I'm sorry, I'm just frustrated." I responded.

"What's wrong?" Alison asks, stretching out her arms and getting in her fighting stance.

"Derek. Derek freakin' Hale." I said, getting into my stance. We started circling each other.

"What did he do?" She asked launching herself at me. I dodged, which I learned I'm fairly good at. I guess after dodging my mom's punches and things she threw at me, I'm pretty good at it.

"What didn't he do?" I asked in anger, I started punching at Alison and she either blocked or dodged them. "First he acts like he likes me! Then he starts being a dick! Then I stupidly tell him I loved him and he says nothing! Which was fine because today he kissed me! Then he ruined the moment by tell me to get out!" I said getting louder with each word. I thought about how amazing the kiss was, which distracted me for a second. It gave Alison enough time to knock me on my ass. I dropped with an 'oof'.

"You gotta pay attention. You getting distracted for even a second could mean your life."  Alison said helping me up. I sighed deeply.

"I know. I know." I said, "I'm just so upset I feel like I could explode."

"Trust me, I know that feeling." Alison said. Before either of us could say anything, my phone rang. I went to my bag, where my phone sat in a water proof bag,. The contact name showed me Isaac was calling. He sounded very upset when I answered.

"Mac." That's all he needed to say for me to know something was wrong. His tone was off and his voice was shaky.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"I really need you right now. Are you busy?" He said.

"Never too busy when my best friend needs me." I said, "I'll come to you, where are you? The loft?"

"No, Derek kicked me out. I'm at Scott's." Isaac said.

"He what? I'm on my way! I'll be there in 20." I said and hung up the phone. I was furious. Derek being a dick to me, is one thing. Him being a dick to Isaac though? Sweet Issac? I could not stand. I hate it when Isaac gets upset. I hate it even more right now cause Derek is the cause of it.

"What's going on?"Alison asked. I turned toward her, my eyes glowing it's bright orange.

"Derek wants his ass kicked. He kicked Isaac out." I said in anger.

When I got to the McCall residence, Scott let me in. He led me to the room Isaac was in. Scott informed me that he already talked to Melissa and she's giving Isaac the room. Isaac was sitting on his new bed in silence when I walked in. He was turned away from me. I shut the door behind me and walked up to him.

"He threw a cup at me, for a second I thought I was back in the house with my dad. Right after Derek bit me, my dad threw a plate at my head. That was the last time I seen him. For a second I was back. I was back to being the scared boy who didn't have any friends and kept to himself. For a second I was weak again." Isaac said, giving a humorless chuckle. He looked up at me, his eyes red from crying, no doubt. I sat down next to him and pulled him into a hug.

"You are not that kid anymore. You are strong and have overcome so much." I said.

"I never want to feel like that again." Isaac said.

"We'll make sure you never have to." I responded.

Damn Derek is just messing everything up. Poor Isaac, he was one of my favorite characters.
