Chapter Forty Seven
Mac's POV
"They say Derek is alive, and I need to know." I say to Isaac as we drive to Derek's loft. We just got back and I needed to see for myself. Isaac thought we should go home, and head to Derek's after we rested but I needed to know. We sat in silence driving to Derek's loft. My hope started diminishing as we got closer. What if he wasn't actually alive? Who could survive a fall like that?
"Mac, you okay?" Isaac asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. I was so distracted, I didn't realize we were outside of our destination. I sighed and turned off the car. I looked up at the building.
"Derek isn't alive is he? Who could survive a fall like that?" I asked, tears filling my eyes.
"Let's just go up there and find out." Isaac said reassuringly. I nodded and followed him into the building. I could feel my body start to shake as I felt nervousness flow through me. If he wasn't there, I don't know what will happen. I looked down as Isaac slowly pulled the door open.
"Derek." Isaac said, making me snap my head up. Sure enough, there he stood in all his shirtless glory. I sprinted to Derek and through myself in his arms.
"Mac, what are you doing here?" Derek asked and I pulled away. I touched his face, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
"One of the Alpha twins said you were alive, so I needed to see for myself." I responded, I went to hug him again, when I noticed someone walk into the room. Ms. Blake stood there in nothing but Derek's shirt. I stepped back from him and looked between them.
"Wait, Mac. I can explain." Derek said, but I glared at him. I could feel hurt and anger fill me. I know we were never officially together, but I was so upset.
"So this is what you've been doing?" I asked stepping back more. My vision got a orange tint, meaning I was starting to flame up.
"Mac." Derek said, reaching an arm out to touch me.
"Don't touch me!" I yelled. Power ran over me as I felt the flames covering my skin. "We thought you were dead! Dead Derek! That almost killed Scott! That almost killed me! We thought you were dead and you're laid up with my teacher? This must be why! Why you kicked me out after you kissed me the other day, huh?"
"Mackinzy." I heard Ms. Blake say. I turned my glare to her.
"You! Don't you speak to me!" I yelled taking a few steps in her direction. Next thing you knew Derek stepped between us and pushed me across the room. My back hit the wall, and I hit my head on a table as I came down to the floor. I also landed wrong sending a snap into my wrist. I yelped in pain.
"Mac!" Isaac called out and ran over to me. He helped me sit up. I looked down at my wrist to see it in a weird angle, and I felt liquid trickling down my face from where I hit my head. Isaac helped me to my feet. My back ached from where I hit the wall. I looked up at Derek with slight fear, because his Alpha eyes were on. I never thought he would put his hands on me like that. Guilt filled his features as his eyes faded.
"I hope you guys are happy together." I said mockingly as Isaac and I walked out of the loft. I tried to keep my sobs in, but couldn't stop the tears that fell. I shouldn't be so surprised. Everyone I love always seems to hurt me.
"Mac, let me drive." Isaac said helping me into the car. I nodded and handed him the keys. Isaac started driving back to Stiles' house. I stared out the window in silence. I couldn't believe it. Derek slept with her. I realized that Issac wasn't driving to the Sheriff's house.
"Where we going?" I asked quietly.
"Scott's. We need to clean you up. Melissa isn't going to freak out too much if you come home with a bloody head. The Sheriff on the other hand will." He pointed out and I nodded my head, agreeing. He's completely right.
"I'm gonna have to wrap my wrist, I don't think fire will heal this one." I say as we pull up. Isaac nodded agreeing.
"What happened to you?" Scott asked as we walked in.
"Derek is alive if you're wondering." I said bitterly, walking past him. I walked into the bathroom and grabbed the first aid kit. I stared at myself in the mirror, the blood stopped flowing and was now starting to dry on my skin.
"Mac?" Scott said from the door. I turned at looked at him, cradling my wrist. I still was at a weird angle, it hurt too much to try and fix it. "This is gonna hurt."
Scott grabbed my wrist and popped it back to place. The pain was intense and went completely up my arm. I screamed loudly and Scott quickly let go. He hissed in pain and I realized I burnt him.
"I'm so sorry." I said stepping back. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw the fire surrounding me like an aura. I hate this. I hate how I can't control it. I hate how I don't even know what I am or why.
"It's okay." Scott said.
"No it's not." I responded to him. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breathes. When I opened my eyes again, I was back to normal. Well, other than the gash that was starting to heal. I guess I don't need external fire to heal wounds.
"What's going on with you? What happened? Isaac didn't tell me anything, just went to his room." Scott asked, grabbing a towel and wetting it.
"Well, like I said Derek is alive." I said stale like. He moved the towel from my face and started wiping off the blood.
"I thought you would be happy about that. That also doesn't explain what happened to you." Scott said.
"I was at first, until I saw him with a half naked female." I said bitterly.
"What?" Scott asked in shock.
"Not any female though." I said laughing humorlessly, "It was Ma. Jennifer Blake."
"Our teacher?" He asked, in even more shock.
"Yes, our teacher." I said looking down at the ground.
"Wait, what does that have to do with you being injured?" Scott asked, wringing out the slightly bloody towel.
"Derek threw me into a wall." I said. Before Scott could comment, I started walking out the bathroom. "Tell Issac I'm going home to sleep."
