Chapter Forty Nine
Mac's POV
"Come on, Mac." Issac said as he walked into the building. I took a deep breathe and walked in. It seems like every time I walk in here, something bad happens. I slowly walk up the stairs. Issac and Boyd surprisingly waiting for me at the top. They opened the door and walked in. I decided to wait to walk in.
"Go back to school." I heard Derek say and I tensed up. I don't think I can do this.
"Well, actually, we can't. Boyd and I are incredibly and unbelievably sick." Issac said in his very annoying cocky tone. That's one of the reasons I hated his guts at first.
"With what, brain damage?" Derek said, making me smile slightly. I quickly cleared my face. No, bad Mackinzy.
"Well, I have a migraine, and, uh, Boyd here has explosive diarrhea." Isaac said. That was their excuses? Those idiots.
"We're here to protect you."Boys said.
"You're here to protect me? Well, I'm in trouble then." Derek scoffed. I then chose that moment to to walk in.
"Mac?" Derek asked in surprise. I stood there silently. "Why aren't you in school?"
"I'm trying not to murder your girlfriend." I said in a bored tone. Derek opened his mouth to speak, I interrupted before he could say anything. "I'm not here for you. I'm here to make sure these two idiots don't get themselves killed helping you."
"Actually, Boyd here came up with a plan." Isaac said, stopping Derek from responding to me. Thank the Lord for my best friend.
"Yeah, I thought about the time Gerard had me and Erica locked up, tied up with electrical wires pushing current through us. I was wondering how we could do something like that, but on a bigger scale." Boyd explained. This kid is pretty smart. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I watched from the stairs as Boyd filled the floor with water. He dropped the hose on the floor, "In a pool of electrified water, it can take up to 50 milliamps to kill a normal human, less than the power it takes to turn on the lightbulb." Boyd explained.
"That's comforting." Derek said looking down at the water.
"If we disable the current interrupter in the building's electrical room, the current will keep coming and anyone who steps foot in here, they'll get a pretty shocking surprise." Boyd continued. I chuckled at the pun.
"Especially someone who's barefoot." Isaac said smirking. I climbed down the stairs and kneeled down at the hose and looked up at Boyd.
"I didn't know you were so smart." I said to him with a smile.
"There's a lot that you don't know about me." He said back.
"When this is over, we should get to know each other. I could use some more friends." I said and Boyd nodded smiling down at me.
"Okay, Mac, you should go." Isaac said, I stood up and looked at him.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"Because, in case this doesn't work, there will be fighting going on down here." He said, I looked at him offended.
"I can fight." I said crossing my arms.
"Okay, Miss I-Can't-Control-My-Fire-Powers. Get your ass home." He said pushing me to the door. I scoffed and turned at looked at the water.
"I'll leave when the water is full. That way I can do whatever is needed in the breaker room. Then you guys can fight to your heart's content." I said and he sighed.
