Chapter Fifty Eight
Mac's POV
We got to the root cellar just in time. It was collapsing and very rapidly. Stiles jumped down the hole and just when I was about to head down behind him, I saw something. It looked like fire. I could feel my skin starting to heat up and my vision turned orange. It was like, like my flames were connecting with what I saw. It felt familiar. The more I looked, the more it seemed like it was in the shape of a person.
"Mac! Are you okay?" I heard Isaac yell. I looked down at the hole that led into the cellar.
"Yeah I'm fine!" I yelled back over the heavy winds. When I looked back up, the figure was gone. What the hell? I shook the thought from my head and looked down the hole. "Let's get you guys outta there." The dirt under me collapsed, making me fall into the hole. I yelped as I landed on my back.
"This is not a time for laughter, but what was that noise?" Stiles asked.
"Shut up." I said and moved next to my best friend. I looked at Melissa and the Sheriff, they looked unharmed to me. These two have basically been the parents I've never had. More dirt and stone fell into the holes of the cellar, making us look around nervously.
All of a sudden the wind stopped. We all looked around confused, "Is it over?" Alison asked.
We sat quietly for a second but then Stiles and Sherrif S started laughing. We all joined, happy to not be dead. Stiles' phone vibrated and he answered quickly, "Scott?" I closed my eyes to focus on the conversation.
"Hey, are you okay?" Scott asked.
"Yeah, we're okay. We're all okay." Stiles responded. "How about you, you okay?"
"Sort of." Scott replied.
"You think you can come get us?" Stiles asked.
"Yeah, of course."
"Yeah. Okay." Stiles said, "Bring a ladder." His father laughed.

When Scott got to the cellar, he came with a ladder and Derek in tow. I was surprised to see Derek, he was supposed to be leaving town.
"Mac, can I talk to you for a sec?" He asked after we all got out of the hole. I looked at Isaac and then walked over to Derek. He led me away from everyone.
"What's up?" I asked.
"I'm sorry. About everything." Derek said and I looked down.
"Yeah." I said quietly.
"I mean it." He said and grabbed one of my hands. "I'm so sorry. When the lunar eclipse was happening, Jennifer almost killed me. I was seeing things that happened. I saw the time in the school basement when I almost died, but mostly I saw you. I almost most died and all I could think about was you and regretting everything that happened."
"Derek, I-" I started but he cut me off.
"No, let me finish." He said and let out a sigh, "It took me almost dying to realize that I love you. I don't know what I would do without you in my life. You set me straight and drive me crazy all at the same time. I love you. I'm sorry it took me so long to realize."
"Derek." I said and sighed. "I'm sorry too. Of course I still love you, and probably always will but I need some time. I'm thrilled you love me back and I want nothing more to jump in your arms right now. But you hurt me, in more ways than one and I need some time. I have so much going on and I need some time." I stepped back. He nodded and released my hand. I turned and started walking back to my friends.
I looked back at him and his face was stale but I could see the hurt and guilt in his eyes. I walked back up to him and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. When I got back to my friends Isaac made a kissy face at me, earning him a punch on the arm.
"Let's get out and here." I said. Stiles and I led everyone to where I parked Alison's car. As we arrived, my skin started heating up like before and I froze in my place.
"Mac, what's wrong?" Scott asked. Everyone turned and looked at me but I was busy staring off into the forest. The figure was back. It was covered in flames and headed toward us.
"What the hell?" Sheriff S asked, noticing what I did. They got closer and the flames started dying down. I stumbled back recognizing that face. No, it can't be. She can't be.
"Mom?" I asked, my voice quivering. She can't be here. She's dead. She just smiled at me.

Okay, this was the final chapter in this installment. I have a sequel already planned and the first chapter should be out soon.
Could it be possible? Is Mac's mom back? Guess you'll just have to wait until I release the second book.
Let me know what you think?
