Chapter Thirty Three
Mac's Pov
When the shock wore of from Derek's harsh words. Anger and frustration filled me. I turned and punched a locker. When I pulled away, it was dented. It also had some scorch marks. I was sure my eyes were the fire orange they turn when I get upset and the fire starts flaming inside. I closed my eyes and took some deep breathes. I felt myself calm down. As I walked toward the door, I heard some growl. Or at least, I thought it was a growl. I turned around to see those twins at the locker I just punched. They looked at me and glared. I just continued to walk out of the school. I could feel my body temperature rising as I got full of emotions. I needed to get home.
Thankfully, a taxi passed by me and I waved for it to stop. After it dropped me off, I rushed up stairs to my room. I walked into the bathroom and turned the shower on cold. I took of Derek's leather jacket and kicked off my shoes. I climbed into the tub and felt the water rushing over me. Preventing me to get too overheated. I sat back against the wall and closed my eyes. I brought my knees up to my chest and just sat with my head between my knees.
"Mac?" I heard a familiar voice call out, but I continued to stay where I was. Isaac followed the sounds of the shower and walked in front of the open bathroom door. I watched as he walked up to me and sat on the outside of the tub. He grabbed my chin and made me look up at him.
"What did Derek do?" He asked and I opened my mouth to respond but sobs came out instead. I couldn't help it. I cared about Derek so much. He was a big part of my life. He has been for years. I just wanted him to open up to me and he wants nothing to do with me. What really stuck out to me was the end of what he said. 'Get away and stay away. I don't want you around me. No one wants you around!' It reminded me of how my mom used to talk to me. It took me back to that place where I hated my existence. A place that I was slowly leaving but seemed to have plunged back in.
"He- he told me that, he-he didn't wa-want me around." I managed to get out while still sobbing, "Th-th-that no one want m-me around." I just felt so broken. Isaac reached up and turned the water off. He went and grabbed a towel. He lifted me out of the tub and wrapped me in the towel. He carried me to my room as I continued to sob. He sat me on his lap and hugged me.
"You know that's not true right? I want you around. I need you around. You are like the sister I've always wanted. You're my best friend." Isaac said, helping me calm down. "Abuse Buddies, remember?" I let out a watery chuckle. Before either one of us could talk, Isaac's phone rang.
"What?" He answered harshly. I was close to the phone I could hear the voice of the person who called. It was Derek, and I felt my body stiffen.
"Come to the Vet office. We found a way that will get your memories back." Derek said and Isaac just hung up. He looked down at me, like he wanted to ask me to go but knew that I was still upset.
